Patch Notes Update 1.6 and The Engineers (2.1) update incoming

I always manually dock. Didn't even know there was such a heresy called auto dock computer!!! Damn lazy pilots!!!

But I can understand why it exists. Why shouldn't, in the years 3300?!?! [big grin]

The problem with the auto-docking module is that it really can't understand the urgency of any given situation. Say, for instance, you're abusing the Robigo run, and need to get through the mailslot before you're scanned. The docking module will attempt to do this below the speed limit, when you could accomplish this action at 350 m/s and use the rear wall of the station as a brake.

To much arguing to read through! :D
Is the expected downtime ending shortly or not?
All I saw was 8 am...stuff...10 hours.... stuff...more stuff...arguments!
I just wanna know when I can play again! :D

This is precisely the kind of "gamer snobbery" I was referring to.
Seriously, does anyone really care if others are using docking computers or not?
And if so... why?

It's all part of the experience, using the docking computer and silent running makes smuggling a whole lot easier and some might say that it was an exploit.
I thought they were having trouble with people not being able to get out of silent running after the docking computer took over. Leading to overheating issues. My impression is that the new change is a workaround. Could be wrong about that though, I only loosely followed it.

Sorry if this has been posted before, I skimmed the thread and didnt see it. As a proud owner of a Fer De Lance.. I am concerned. I have recently been informed that the FDL was having issues with being able to dock without use of a DC. Has this been fixed?

I my opinion change log is one thing but dosn't mean that is done or ready in game

how about this ? " Provide a graphics option to adjust UI scale in VR with a maximum and default of 0.7 for Vive and 1.0 for Oculus"

someone ever seen this option in beta ?

Docking computer is great on my Trade Anaconda when I'm on a long trade route. While the ship is auto docking I'm in the map plotting the course to the next station so as soon as I'm docked I offload. onload, refuel and I'm out of there in 30 seconds.

Precisely!

We already know NPCs will have upgraded mods but do we know the % chance an NPC will have those mods and their rank?
is it rare or common?

Am I the only one to think that 10+ hours to update the servers is excessively a very long time? I worked at places where we were pushing massive upgrades to financial applications on big servers. Including the bootstrapping, testing and upgrade, I don't think I ever seen any upgrade taking more than a couple of hours. What are they doing in 10 hours? Rewriting the beta from scratch and compiling it on servers? Taking the changes from their workstations on 1GB thumb drive, running to the servers and copying the changes there, then recompiling the updated source code? Inquiring mind wants to know...

I didn't think of that but you could of course be right, not experienced that personally other than getting my ship tanked sideways on to a station while using the DC at the launch of ED.

Or maybe some people will just be happy with the variable modification they get instead of complaining unless they get the PERFECT modification. Maybe some people think that a bit of variation and some imperfect modifications give your ship a bit of a unique feel.
In other words maybe your opinion is not the only opinion out there about this.

Having crap mods does not make them useful. Yes it makes you unique. Some ppl don't think that is something they desire very much.
