There are pages of topics with cmdr's offering good advice, those topics haven't been deleted. I don't know how many times I've personally offered advice, someone even put all the topics into one thread. As suggested above, perhaps something should be stickied at the top of the forum, at least until escape tactics become common knowledge.
The devs should probably think about including a tutorial on escape tactics.
What an arrogant, dismissive response to a user having real problems with a game that they used to enjoy.
Hello all fellow CMDRS well it has come to this sad sorry ending for my Elite adventures in the bubblewent to Dahan this evening in my relatively new Cutter made Duke pre 2.1 so thought i would try the new missions, oh boy what a mistake i made getting this out of the garage interdiction after interdiction came by the same NPC in his invincible Vulture it was so sad to see my lovely cutter scrapped in a few pew pews
So got a little Hauler same again made mince meat out of me ,saw a vid today about using Mines never used em before errr..... dont bother didnt have time to fire em offboom that was that.
After a few haulers later made it to my Lovely Anaconda that went the same way just now but hey got the vulture down to 99 percentcockpit canopy went thought no probs i`ve got my Auto repair kit, couldnt fix it so running out of air fast even though i had 25 mins to start with ,my hull was down to 1 percent interdicted again trying to see out of a small corner of my window ,you guessed it gone in a flash.
Thats it for now putting it down going to play some of the other games i have i am not mad found it quite funny and sad to see this game become less enjoyable after every rebuy option comes up.
I am not the best pilot by far and i will have a go at combat pre 2.1 was ok i lost some won most now well all i say is good luck to all who say they havent lost a thing i have. not bitter just very disappointed in the game now .
So looking forward to the engineers for the custom elements it would bring looks like the NPC `s have got there before me at least . chow folks T out
He was no such thing. He was truthful. The OP needs to realize big ships aren't his bag. He needs to step into something smaller until he learns how to play the game. So many folks are flying around in their big toys and are unqualified to pilot them.

Instead of incrementally improving the AI over time, it went from flying potatoes to skynet overnight. People are struggling and it's not really their fault. How they acquired their large ships is irrelevant.

That may very well be -- but there is a way to convey that message more effectively with compassion and a displayed willingness to help. His post was nothing but an arrogant, barbed criticism of the OP.
who the hell do you think you are to decide he didnt work/earn his big ships? You sound like a petty jealous child.
The H-Jump is your friend
I somehow have to agree on this. Sure it's great and ego boosting to have those big pricey ships but the game has changed and not in a favorable way to players who are relatively inexperienced in combat or interdiction. After having an obvious difficult time in his capital ship a person would think he would explore the information, community and You Tube tutorials offered to try to adjust his techniques so he would be more effective and adept. Therefore having more fun keeping his ships and playing the game. Or taking a breath and going to a smaller ship and changing game objectives until the game either balances out or one can learn a bit more aggressive tactics without suffering such a large re-buy. But maybe that's someone's choice on how they want to play the game and I can respect that. Just can't find myself coming to the pity party.Angry? No not at all, just really curious, it's gotta be incredibly frustrating for him. Here's the thing, most of these kinda topics are not accompanied by a video, rarely does the Op ask what could have been done differently.
look, I am primarily a trucker & explorer, I don't even have Elite in Combat.. I still made a bit of an effort to learn from mistakes, seek advice from others and try and improve.
My only point is the Op has either been working a long time to get a those big ships, in all that time he hasn't tried to understand basic defense measures, or he's fast tracked his way to a big ship via Robigo or some other method and now found he is way out of his depth. Either way he should be seeking some help in defending himself.
Telling someone that they should log a ticket or take time out isn't going to help them long term, am sure if he found out how easy it is to avoid destruction he would start enjoying the game again, he's flying a frikin Cutter & Anaconda, a few simple steps and he can laugh off any NPC.
Compassion is unnecessary. Nobody died here. Nobody lost their family. Nobody lost their home. Someone got blown up in a VIDEOGAME. Videogames are about numbers and it is best to be bold and to the point when discussing them.
You're completely wrong about that. I have a feeling that you're choosing to be that way on purpose, so I'm done with this conversation.
"Skynet", what complete rubbish, people just have to engage their brain. They decided to either fight or flight and plan accordingly, it couldn't be simpler.
Tbh the only time you really get in trouble with interdicting npc's, is when you have one of those Neo moments, and start to believe you are the oneshould do what we all do when we see a agent and run
