Horizons I have had enough!

On the subject of escaping interdiction, I would like to add for pilots of large vessels like the Cutter that when you line up with the escape vector although the nose of your ship will be pointing at it the ship will not be heading towards it due to it's large mass,so make sure you have at least one boost left. This may be obvious to large ship pilots but after 2.1 I found myself panicking and shouting at the screen " I am aligned with the vector"before noticing the space dust was going across the screen not at it.So keep one boost in reserve.

There are certain people replying in this (and other) threads, and sadly, it is clear that FD are listening to these people and changing the game to suit them, or even not changing the game because the 'yes men' completely dismiss all legitimate concerns.

Interdictions are incredibly buggy and always have been, with escape vectors jerking around, flashing, disappearing etc. leading to frequent FSD failures at no fault of our own.

With the new changes, even if I submit (in an A-rated ASP Explorer), I am lucky to get away without losing my shields in seconds and maybe escape with 70-80% hull left.

If I suffer from FSD failure due to it's buggy behaviour, by the time I can jump away I am down to 20-40% hull, or I am simply torn to pieces and down just shy of 1 million credits.

Alternatively, I can turn and fight, and die that way, because the ASP no longer stands a chance against most NPC ships (God love the people flying even smaller ships!).

When your rebuy cost is nearly 1 million credits, and you only have about 12 million credits in the bank, the OP NPCs combined with the buggy interdictions is kind of soul destroying.

I even had one mission where I was out in the SRV collecting cannisters to complete the mission and an OP NPC appeared and started to attack my ship! Luckilly I had landed right beside the crash site, but by the time I was back in the ship and taking off I had 30% hull and no shields...I literally had no way to defend my ship...

Did FD sit around a big table and David Braben said "I know what we should do, we should change the balance in the next update to make as many people as we can feel even more powerless and penniless than they already felt, especially the people with smaller ships and less money!" and everyone around the table just nodded in agreement?

This is just FD's way of telling you they don't need casual gamers as customers. They only want elite hard-core people who enjoy grinding for the chance to get RNG upgrades. You want to progress, maybe try out some other ships? Not for you, lowly casual player.

It's bodes ill for any gaming company when casuals are alienated, because they comprise a large chunk of their potential market. Put simply, there are a lot more casual players than hard-core players, and for a non-subscription model like Elite uses, that's important.

Oh poor you. Does the wittle guy feel awienated? :(

It's got literally nothing to do with hard-core people and casuals. It's simply that Elite is continuing from whence it left off. THIS is what Elite games are like. All of them. They are meant to be hard. They are meant to be unforgiving, and you are meant to take your time, play the game. Slowly acquire the materials needed. If some of that involves a bit of grinding, so be it. Guess what? You aren't entitled to every for free, or for cheap or for easy mode. You want something? You work for it. Welcome to a video game designed by adults, for adults. Instead of the usual pander childish nonsense the majority of games currently employ.

Pah.

why do people keep putting these i am leaving threads up? if you are going to leave just go, if you are going to stay then learn pip management, fa turns, use of thrusters, boost turns, its really not hard just takes a little practice.

I think they CARE enough about the future of this game, and LIKE Elite Dangerous enough to realize that posting about their decision to leave the game along with the reasons why would possibly help redirect that future instead of just silently uninstalling the game and moving on. Leaving the reasons why a game they previously LOVED has turned into a game they now HATE. Hated enough to uninstall it and leave the ED community after many months and even years of previous participation.

Fanboys should pay attention and show some bloody respect for once! It does none of us any good if there is enough dissatisfaction with the new update that threads like this are numerous enough to complain about how many there are these days! Does it not strike the fanboys as something to be concerned about? Or do they have their combined heads so far up into the void that they are blind to even something this obvious?

To change the subject completely....

I am once again seeing a lot of comments complaining about the number of back to back interdictions happening to them in 2.1. I posted a detailed comment in this thread about the major changes in BOUNTY HUNTER BEHAVIOR. Didn't see any responses to that other post.

To sum that one up again in case anyone is looking for a solution to their interdiction problem...

"If you have ANY OPEN BOUNTY on your head, YOU WILL be PLAGUED by AI Bounty Hunters like you have never encountered in any previous version of ED. I can only speak from my own personal experience, but when I was finally able to wait out the last of my open bounties, the number of AI interdictions I was dealing with per session dropped by 95%! I'm not exaggerating!

That is how much of my interdiction activity was linked to Bounty Hunters chasing me from system to system because of an open bounty I had in another system 100 light years away from my current base of operations!

So CHECK your Transactions folks! If you are seeing non-stop Interdictions and you do indeed have a bounty on your head... THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM! As soon as that bounty expires, or you die and it goes dormant, a large percentage of your interdictions will stop.

And make a point to AVOID any missions or activities that will more than often result in getting WANTED in a system. Those WETWORTH missions are a prime example of "Chump Bate"! FD put those missions in the game with million dollar payouts as A TRAP!

I fell for it during the opening days of 2.1. Basing my decision to take on these guaranteed bounties from my 2.0 and earlier experiences with having open bounties. These were a "non-issue" before 2.1 arrived, but obviously those free meal tickets are now history!
