I stopped examining the image when I saw the "political correctness" shark. This image is nothing more like the typical ultra-right-wing propaganda you get from parties like the UKIP and their equivalent in other countries - FN in France, AfD in Germany etc...

I thought, well, at least it doesn't have any islamopho..aaah, there it is.

The cressant and star flag was a nice touch, too.

What's the basis for Scotland getting a second referendum? Whats the actual legal basis I mean? Sure tempers are high at the moment and I see that harriden sturgeon banging the drums for all she's worth right now.

The basis is there's been a major change to the constitution. That could be anything, but it being an issue that Scotland as a whole felt strongly about makes it all the more likely.

Just read this on BBC site

John Redwood: Why can't we keep full European-style access?

Conservative former minister John Redwood, a prominent Leave campaigner, says he does not believe Article 50 - the mechanism for leaving the EU - needs to be triggered straight away.

He says controlling immigration and preventing people from taking low paid jobs in the UK are "non-negotiable".
And he says his colleagues want to use UK legislation initially to achieve any changes, adding that they can "sit down at any time" to discuss the future with Britain's former European partners.
But he adds: "We have the full European-style access - unless somebody wants to change it, why can't it continue?"

I can't believe this guy is serious. Is that really how brexit was advertised in the UK? :O

It already was...

And let's see how "sovereign" it feels if/when Scotland and Ireland leave us...

They should have left a long time ago, if people don't want to belong to a union they should be able to leave, i never like the idea of forcing people to do anything.

I think that's a reality that frequently gets overlooked.

The last time people could directly make their opinions felt was 41 years ago - and that wasn't for the EU in it's current format.

The UK wasn't part of the single currency and in all likelihood never would have been.

And it seems clear that a lot of people in a lot of EU countries didn't want the Euro and certainly don't want the EU superstate integration that is the stated aim of the EU leaders.

People are stronger together when they want to be together - when they feel forced then that just causes more problems.

I woke up this morning, checked the news and then just wrote 1 word, it was a simple 4 letter word, but it encapsulated everything I was feeling at the time (and still do). As has already been mentioned in here I absolutely despise the way that the leaders of the leave campaign have come out first thing this morning and say it was a mistake to run the campaign on lies and sorry but we can't give you the things we promised we would. The worst thing, is that people act surprised by this! ing politicians, the exact reason this should have been run by an independent board as I have said all along. Then we have the PM resigning which, even though I don't like and didn't vote for him, is a shocking thing to do, the labour party using this as a reason to try and oust their leader (which they'd been waiting for), Scotland and NI possibly leaving the UK (though Scotland is probably less likely). I mean what the hell has just happened.

And still no-one talks about the dangers now facing our environment and wildlife without the EU protection laws.

Ireland/NI is complicated. The Unionist population their would find it very difficult to integrate into a united Ireland, many people in the Republic secretly don't want reunification now due to the fact we are still trying to recover from a horrific property crash and the cost of a United Ireland would be enormous. As for Scotland, its hard to say, I still think the Euro is a huge problem if they join, Ireland and Scotland rely heavily on trade with England, in order to be competitive they need to be able to devalue their currencies to make their exports more attractive something which is impossible in the Euro.

Europe is a better place without the EU?

I guess we found another one without any basic economic understanding whatsoever.
Like the majority over there in the UK. :)

Nor a sense of what our history was like before :/

A small consolation to me is that David Cameron will go down in history as the fool who led to the disintegration of the United Kingdom.

Ummm.. That would be the Great British public I think you'll find. If you recall, they voted for the decision...

Nobody forced them to enter, it was their decision. And nobody forcing them to stay, or leave both of this is their decisions.

But as entering had it's advantages and disadvantages, leaving too.

Comparing Great Birtian to those insignificant countries is a bit silly..

I hope your poisonous nationalism keeps you warm in the nights to come. Neither Norway nor Switzerland is "insignificant" anywhere else but in your fevered imagination of imperial glory. I wonder how you'll feel when Scotland leaves and the recession doesn't seem to go away. Let's wait a few years and see.

Yeah. I find that incredibly odd, I've heard a few people say likewise - that Cameron is to 'blame' for this. Surely credit/blame has to go to the voters, whose choice it was to leave the EU (and/or those who would vote to leave the UK). Or for those who campaigned to Leave. Blaming one of the leaders who tried to stop it is bizarre.
