Horizons DBS is now worthless

You could boost indefinitely before the latest patch with the distributor nerf. As far as I am aware, boost draw is a constant for each ship. You might be able to achieve indefinite boosting using the right distributor mod, but I can't comment because I focus on overall recharge or weapons based distributors.

ty. found a appropriate old thread on boost pd draw per ship: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...for-boost-by-Ship-Help-Wanted-for-Coriolis-io

combined with recharge rate and speed-böeed this should give a good idea whether you can achieve permanent boost on your ship.

The major factor is the ship design in itself, for exemple an ASPe who's supposed to be a multi-role explorer can boost all the time with a very long burst of speed, but a fighter like let's say an FdL have a medium duration of boost and can't boost all the time on top of it.

It seems that the cost in distribution is not the same. It's either an error in the design or a designer choice (which doesn't make any sense)

Your wrong i have an asp with 4a PD and it can not boost continuously even with 4 pips to engine, it did before the last patch which was not right now it,s as far as i concerned spot on, there are all sorts of variables going on here and much jumping to conclusions. try and stick to the facts.
I,m just hope fdev verify this very carefully and take whats on this forum with a grain of salt, some have a bad tendency to exaggerate or minimize to suit there point of view at any given stage.

Ship i perfect as it is, i fly with my shieldless DBS all time, get in battles once in a while,, when i have possibilities i stay and fight until the end, many times against two or three ships, when not, always was able to run away with some scratches in my hull... still not a single death since 2.1

never had a canopy breach in a DBS. no idea why - and why it is so common in a vulture.

I've had them in both; I always have A-rated Lift Support, too.

Just pointing out that the DBS isn't an OP death machine with no weak points.

@ CMDR B. Schmidt

Yep. I underestimated DBS a couple of times. It never ended well for me.

One time, I was flying a B-rated Viper Mk IV. A DBS jumped me, neatly outmanouevred me, and blew me away before I could recover from my surprise.

Even when in my Vulture, I treat DBS with respect. Thanks to gimballed C3 beam laser and cannon, I can handle them, but underestimate them? Nope. Not any longer.
