What patch of 2.4 are we on? Have there been any recent iterations? Thought it has been quiet but sometimes my sense of time is warped.

I think they stopped with the letters when they had the "public" release recently. Maybe they realized that they'd better push it out of PTU before they run out of alphabet

Or wait, am I confused? Was 2.4mnopqr or whatever a 'public' or a PTU build?

You just might be right. There's been an uptick in "buy more ships! Support is needed now more than ever!" and a post campaign on various web forums to check out SC in hopes of getting more income flowing in. That is surely a sign of financial struggle. So the store will open up and voila - micro-transactions! $5 for a jacket, $4 for pants, $3 for shirts, $1 for a fancy pair of socks that you can't see but they are totally there!

Of all the micro transactions in games, I'm actually fine with the cosmetic ones. Hell I bought the Braben Bobblehead last year. Why? I liked what I saw at gamescon. Same with buying a few paint jobs for ships over the past two years. Hell I don't mind spending $20 here or there when a studio is doing good work. But they've actually got to be releasing decent stuff.

Micro-transactions are fine. My point is the state of the current game and financing. They were supposedly totally financed, so they wouldn't need them right now. Also, they should be focusing on the actual core of the game working, like basic controls maybe TrackIr support, a real Newtonian flight model, etc, before worrying about commando clothes.

Not news but fanmade machinima (maybe someone here will enjoy it)

CIG is indeed, not guilty by people wasting their money with them... depending of how the offer was made and in what the person believed when making his pledge decision (And if that belief was really the correct point of view based in what CIG advertised).
But someone that does not feel deceived, and just want their money back because are in financial issues, shouldn't get it, in my opinion. It's not fair with the business. And it's easy to exploit the business with such argument if that becomes a standard approach. BUT, we are talking here about CIG, a company which have been convincing everyone to pledge more and more based on lies. So, everyone deserves the refund for whatever reason in this case, in my opinion.

I disagree that they are not alerting the customers with disclaimers about their ship sales. While they do not recommend to "pledge responsibly", they say that you don't need to buy ships and can acquire them later in-game.

I think that at this case, the backers are slightly correct, instead desperate, when defending CIG. They are just do not considering that CIG has been lying for all them along all this road.

My thing here is there are ways to go about selling your account and ships if you really need the money. I've known plenty of people who their situations changed over the past 3 years. Maybe they had a car accident, got hurt or had a kid that got sick with medical bills to cover, etc.. I'm not totally sure that should necessarily come from CIG. Hell there are plenty of us here who divested through the grey market including myself. Now seeking a refund because you feel that CIG did not live up their side of the contract I think is a bit different of a situation. Those seeking refunds last year because CIG had failed to deliver the product as pitched...that's on CIG.

Now my observation just amongst my friends: those who can afford it least have bought the most ships. But to me that is on them, especially the ones still spending money. Throughout 2014 & 2015 I elect to put $150 - $200 a month away in a saving account. That way if things looked great with SC eventually then I had the funds to get whatever I wanted if the ship store ever went away (it's not). If not, well that was money I could always spend on something else. Well this year it was somethings else. Decided to do that something else this year and join a flying club, take advantage of cheap AVGAS and get my multi-engine endorsement. Additionally with it being an election year I stocked up on guns and ammo.

I told others to do the same thing, especially since the introduction of LTI tokens. Told people to melt ships and get P-72's and then stash money away in savings accounts until it is clear the game will become viable. If it does, then go spend money, you get LTI, and if not...well go get yourself a new graphics card and VR headset and a couple VR games.

No arguments there. I've made YT videos saying just that. You should see, if you haven't already, the comments section for those videos. They are entertaining to read to say the least.

Micro trans actions are fine, however you need a WORKING game before you do these things. I know that some people like to say that ED is broken and FD should fix that first. Honestly I can't take hat seriously. ED works, its not perfect, however it works at its core and its playable.

SC have so many issues and problems that need to be fixed before they start to make these things. To me it seams like a desperate attempt to get more moany into the black vortex. Moreover the petty attempt to harvest more backers from different forum are just.....total fail.

Wowawewa, last pages were depressingly sad. This thread has reached it's all-time low. From the regular hate/insults spit and towards several Star Citizen staff and developers to the usual troll pics and videos we now add fat shaming jokes, personal scufflesbetween newbies about outside issues...

Let's remind this thread rules (again):

There's really no excuse for this continuous trollish behaviour!

I don't care if you don't like how ships fly, If you are angry because your precious LTI was made irrelevant and messed your grey-market business, If you are bitter because you got kicked from the forums or if you are angry because the Idris was upgraded from a corvette to a frigate or because Procedural Generated planets are coming sooner rather than later.
In Short: If the Star Citizen Development/Crowdfunding Campaign didn't followed as you expected and you now are: Disappointed/Bitter/Angry, whatever is fuelling that hate, take a step back and think twice before posting, because what that attitude is showing, is that whatever CIG did to make you step away from backing the community/game, they did the right move. Because that toxic behaviour is not welcomed anywhere, being it in Star Citizen or in any other game. So way to go in proving CIG right.

Nice image. Where did you find it? Is it official artwork or created by a fan?

It's a screenshot, here's some more:

So, CIG causes people to get angry and then you advise those people not to participate in game because nobody wants that toxicity, therefore CIG was right ?
Are you insane ?
Do you hear yourself mate?

You are absolutely delusional. Everyone here has constantly said what the issues are and they solely center around the game, it's current state, it's lack of transparency, it's complete and obvious mismanagement, it's fleecing of backers, and the constant development/release delays plus the new ToS that completely relieves CR/RSI/CIG of any form of responsibility or liability in releasing a polished working game that was promised during the entire campaign. I don't know how many times it needs to be repeated, this isn't "trollish" behavior just because it completely flies in the face of your delusional take on the state of the game and what you want to believe - it is the facts and it is the current state and it isn't getting any better from CR/RSI/CIG.

You, and people like you, are the problem. You are the equivalent of enablers for addicted junkies.

Dude, let's put this simply, you are not a moderator. Stop trying to dictate the direction of the thread.

If people are breaking rules, report them. It's a very simple concept.

Just because you don't like people's opinions or their stance on a matter it hardly gives you the right to start playing psuedo-moderator.

We are all adults (I think), we should be able to behave accordingly without the need of hassling the mods.
I don't care if you are angry about the game, its impossible to please everyone and that Star Citizen as a "dream game" can be anything or nothing based on peoples expectations. There's no perfect game and there's no way that EVERYONE will be happy about it, EVER. If you want to vent, go ahead, but at least make it in a mature way, just some effort about it would be nice. Trollish behaviour just makes CIG look right about the haters and makes me glad to see them get refunds and back away from the game tbh, it's personalities like those that I absolutely don't need to deal with in the Universe.

It's ok to dream, just don't be angry/bitter/mad because it's not "exactly" your dream.
Just listen to the man like you did when you gambled thousands of dollars on the dream.

And, instead of listening to empty promises from 3 years ago - let's see him try out what his empty promises turned into 7 months ago:
