Plea for Miners to move to Jaques Station start a new society

I realised that limpets are limpets... I just wasn't sure that having, say, a fuel transfer controller onboard would make any difference to limpets carried in the vessel.

No difference in your hold.

As soon as you fire one from the fuel controller it becomes a fuel limpet.

A collector if fired by the collector controller and so on.

Hope that helps.

Well by the looks of things nothing's going to happen with Jaques for the time being. I fear many people are wasting their time here. Not that the RP isn't fun in itself. Good stuff for sure.

For now I'm going to scan the neutron field for extra cash and then take a right, drop in at Sag A for some tea and biscuits and then go back and mod my FSD.

Just to remind everyone:

If you want to make some extra money while out there, if you go down a few hundred light years (directly down from Jaques) you'll find yourself in the local Neutron Field. There are thousands upon thousands of high value systems waiting to be scanned.

I travelled through the fields for 10s of 1000s of LY to get to him, and kept wondering when they would end. They didn't. :)

On my way back to the bubble after dropping off 60 tons of Meta Alloys and 20 tons of other assorted goodies for the cause. I'm going to try and do some more Engineer upgrades (using the cartographics from this journey to upgrade access etc) and then probably set off back to Jaques with more care packages soon.

For anyone going out there, all I can say is that there are many, many shinies in the neutron star field ~1,400LY up once you get about 15,000LY out towards Jaques. You could easily spend a lifetime scanning those fields and not make a dent ;)

a bored and creative request to commanders visiting jacques, we wish to encourage the growth of bacteria and other potential lifeforms on the moons and so forth, so if commanders could buy any biowaste from jacques and jettison it off on the planets if they go barnalce searching or srving

Lets see if the smell of biowaste and hydrogen fuel has any impact on the planets / landables in the jacques system over time

I have today deposited 100 tonnes of biowaste at jacques 7c.

As a test to see a) if anything grows by feeding things b) test of the background sim by depositing man made goods onto the planetary surfaces

Nice one GG,
After my ridiculous screenie mishap, I could use some extra income. I was already scouting the immediate surroundings anyway.
Thx

Such cowboy terraforming attempts are nothing short of littering and assaulting the balance of any potentially pre-existing ecosystem, as obscure as it may be. If the very existence of Jaques Station encourages such behaviour like it has already encouraged local crime, it is high time it got fixed and moved back to the bubble, or evacuated and drifted into the local star.

j/k :)

I have been thinking... and have gotten to the conclusion that I will move to Jaques Soon(TM). I'd just like to know what the Gods (FDEV) intend to set up for us. A mining CG? An exploration CG? Something else?

I'm asking because I believe Jaques doesn't have any services besides being able to sell stuff (not exploration data), and if I go out there only to find out I have brought the wrong kind of ship/modules, then it will all be for nought... a waste of time.
I feel I have wasted enough time with some other eccentric guys lately :p

Will mining help? Will only Meta-Alloys help? I'd like some - you know - direction ;)

Ziggy: I'm coming for you... sooner than you think :D

Is there any progress in services at Jacques? Repair, maybe? Universal Cartographics, perhaps?

no feel free to check the main community mega thread in my signature, it is updated daily on the OP, still the only services are commodities market and the functioning but not giving out missions mission board.

We could do along with some poster on that main thread ( this one is cool to so keep activity going there) but its on the main discussion forum and sensible profile raising could be helpful

The meta alloy attempts have had the results early on of market restoration of commodities that was one success but nothing since.

Lots of limpet for onsite miners could be helpful.

I would really like to see even restocking services so i could do some mining...

Oh theres over a hundred of us that have been trying. Very very hard but so far results have been limited.

what's the current meta alloys demand at jaques?

Zero! It dropped completely off the commodities list over a week ago. I think that's a pretty clear sign that whatever UA damage might have been done... has already been attended to by CMDR deliveries of Meta Alloys.

And that the repair automation that would repair the station services perhaps has been disabled by frontier until such point they are ready to turn it on. Or they have set a hidden manual total. Or we are missing something else to trigger his repair if that is possible, or the obvious frontier are waiting for a community goal.

The current community goal for the search for barnacles by the empire is to finish in 3,5 hours from now on.

So basically stuffing my T9 with Meta Alloys won't help anything and i'd better bring a load of limpets?
