Wait, what?...
...Just because you don't say anything does not mean you are not paying attention.
Aye, Also disillusioned with the lack of... anything. I just want to know, you know. how is it progressing, how much trouble is it, etc.
What was actually said about the vive at lavecon https://www.twitch.tv/laveradio/v/78330489 time code 05:20 ish
Basically, the guy who really knew wasn't at Lavecon so they couldn't give a firm answer.
I think you're wrong. I suspect the staff read most of the posts and that takes away from their development time.

My take on the Lavecon response is that it's a highly technical matter involving render pipelines and lots of math. It just wasn't Sandro or Michael's area of expertise. I'm not sure who the technical guy is that was there talking about the engine but I would've hoped that he knew something but no.
It will get fixed at some point. It sucks having this cool piece of kit and knowing that the best experience, in a game that we all really enjoy playing, is bugged but we just have to have patience.
As long as it takes? I don't mean to be inflammatory - I'm in the same boat as you. I finally upgraded my DK2 to a Vive and the game that I have spent far and away the most hours in VR is a mess. Everyone talks about the resolution issue and how SS magically fixes it but it doesn't, it's still very jaggy - worse than it should be, my DK2 is clearer. Not only that though there is the periphery bug so I have glittering artifacts in my FOV AND the scale is way off. My avatar's body looked midget size. I'm really frustrated because I have to plug my DK2 back in to get a half decent VR experience, that shouldn't be the case.Patience for how long? Patience until is fixed or until they acknowledge we exist, still waiting and hoping?
To me it doesn't really matter how technical the issue is, I just want to know a timeframe of when it's planned to be fixed, and what are they going to do exactly to fix it... just to avoid getting hyped to then find out it's just a font change, like they did before.

My experience with FDev when it comes to VR is that they are very quiet about fixes but they do eventually happen. I'm not sure why they're quiet when FDev themselves seem more open to their community. Maybe it's because the VR guys are engineers that can't communicate with other people? Who knows.
I hear you man.Well I'd prefer if they just tell us what's going on instead of having to guess. How long does it take to just write a few words? Is it SO difficult?
I understand your position, but I don't share it. I believe I'm not asking too much, just a little consideration and the truth. I've said this before and I'll say it again: Ignoring customers is bad policy. I'm not a troll, I don't enjoy writing all these posts, but I'm really tired of being completely disregarded. And it's pretty obvious I'm not the only one feeling that way.
...We should petition Valve as well to REMOVE ELITE AS A VIVE COMPATIBLE GAME. They can take that little symbol off the market you know...
You have a good point there. It's actually hurting the Vive to be affiliated with Elite: Dangerous when it obviously isn't working as intended.
Vive shouldn't be endorsing Elite: Dangerous. Sadly. Maybe if HTC pulled the plug FD would take heed.
Sadly it is hurting Vive as even on this forum one can read over and over to buy Rift because ED looks rubbish on Vive and it does not do justice to Vive at all and it should not wear the sticker. It is a shamble on the side of FD and they should loose that sticker immediately or remove it themselves. I could understand having issues on Launch of Vive, but we are well past that point now. Vive is readily available in most stores around the world and this type of experience ED is currently presenting is very off putting from VR in general, so I wholeheartedly agree that they should not be using the sticker at all!!!!
If there's no response by next Thursday (2 weeks since I posted the new thread in the main forums), I'll write a letter to Steam, and also start tweeting until we get an answer. I hate it to come to this, but I won't just forget about it and move along.
