Also, I do find it comical that Archon who beheads opponents and sells families of women and children into slavery, players of all persuasions casually murder innocents for bits of ships and casual references to drug taking (which is much more of a problem and much more insidious having dealt with drug addicts in my old job) is glossed over for the much less widespread practice of cannibalism. And ED is full of dark humour, as it should be.

I don't hold up much hope of that story being used much like my other food horror story with barnacle flesh was not used. But one has to try...and if you have reacted in such a way to my story, then it succeeded very well in its purpose of making people shiver a little- and just to correct you, not all pirates == Kumo in the story, so it's a bit of a leap to suggest Kumo == cannibals. But who knows? I would love a Firefly Reaver power.

Thank you, Rubbernuke. I appreciate your comments.

And no, we Imperials haven't glossed over his atrocities. Unfortunately our plans to bring the Pirate Lord to justice have been thwarted - at least until "collapse" is an actual possibility.

Thank you again.

Title : Aurora Survivors found in DROJU FC-S D5-8 !

Description

As he was searching DROJU FC-S D5-8 B 3 for Yttrium, Commander Hierrark managed by a stroke of luck to recover
the full 6 escape pods of the Aurora. The ship has gone missing after all communications were lost 5 months ago.
The Aurora was a scientific ship sent in deep space to discover and study new species of organic life on water and earth like worlds.

Commander Hierrark's reports says :

the chance that my exploration mission were to find and rescue the crew of a scientific ship were almost inexistant.
When you explore the deep space, the last thing you are expecting is escape pods with alive people in it !
Doctor Lyne captain of the Aurora say he and his crew owe me their life, but they were just lucky enought to cross my path.

Captain Lyne told me,it all happened in a split second.
They were violently pulled out of hypercruise, and the Aurora was already being shot at by an unknown ship.
Captain Lyne just had enought time to scan the attacker, before he and his crew would make it to the escape pods,
he say, this was no common ship, it was moving really fast with incredible agility, but didn't seems to have any kind of thrusters.
If you ask me, i'd say he's still recovering from the shock, and he might be exagerating a bit.
Right now the Aurora's crew is safe and sound, and it's all that matter.

Commander Hierrark.

Title: Federal Scientists defend actions in the Pleiades
When: ASAP
Where: Global Galnet (to act as a Federal Perspective on the recent events) or Maia, all Federal Pleiades bases, Sol
Text: Prominent Federal researchers and Scientific organisations have spoken out in defense of the Federations actions in the Pleiades Nebula. At a recent conference the Federal Union of Exobiologists released a statement.

"Those attacking the recent Federal campaigns in the Pleiades are clearly forgetting the context behind the activity, mysterious artefacts seemingly manufactured by intelligent alien life and strange structures have been discovered in the Pleiades nebula. As scientists our reaction should not be to destroy these wonders as encouraged by certain groups in a perversion of science but to study them in controlled, safe laboratory conditions as the Federation has been doing despite repeated attacks by independent 'researchers'. Should the worst come to pass and these artefacts turn out to be the weapons of a hostile race the distribution of them throughout human space should certainly be put to a stop"

In a later comment a spokesperson said "Despite their promises of open access the Empire can simply not be trusted with this, have we already forgotten they were formed to justify Genocide?" which along with other comments on how the Federal militarisation was necessary, caused an Imperial delegation to leave the conference in protest.

Title: Heretics of Antal

When: ASAP

Where: Polevnic

Description:

Notorious Utopian dissident Joseph Sulne was tried in Polevnic yesterday with millions of citizens networking to witness his excommunication.

Sulne, a once eminent researcher, had been discovered exploiting live captives to produce 'pure Utopians' using the outlawed sciences of progenitor cell biology, machine consciousness and eugenics.

His captor, Enforcer Zaan, reflected on the outcome of the operation: 'Sulne's perverted vision clouded his judgement, sullying the purity of Utopian scientific achievement. His punishment is richly deserved.'

Condemned to Sim Archive exile and personality modification, Sulne was unrepentant:

"As humanity withers and stagnates, we must not become shackled to outdated concepts of morality. My test subjects are not victims, but the saviours of our race guiding humanity towards a limitless future. With each regrettable sacrifice our understanding advances, an agreeable price to pay in comparison to the thousands of lives pointlessly wasted each second to conflicts, famine or neglect.'

Am I on some 'no publish' list, I can't remember the last time I had an article accepted. If so I'll stop submitting.

They could quote the title of the article suggestion and give a one liner: "Too long", "bad grammar", "lore contradiction". That much is true. In your and my case though, we both clearly killed the 150 words condition. I just wanted it out in the void, which this thread tends to accomplish partially. I might post such things like the Worker's Right for the CIU in the group section of the Imperial Federation later on to promote RP in general.

I don't mind. But if you do, you might need to cut it down a little.

Didn't it used to be 300 words or am I misremembering?

You don't have to remember Jaggedmallard. Just read the FIRST post:

"Submissions should ideally be no more than 150 words long, but if a submission is particularly engaging, entertaining or imaginative, it is less important that it adhere to the word limit."

Title: War for Control of Cubeo
Location: Galnet, Cubeo
Time: ASAP
Description:

War in Aisling's Cubeo system as Cubeo's Patron's Principles attack controlling faction The Prismatic Imperium.

Governor Michelle Bright pledged allegiance to Aisling Duval, though she also struck at the heart of the Princess's Stop Slavery Stupid Campaign, 'Cubeo has enough troubles of it’s own. I speak for the majority of our traditionalists when I say we don’t need millions of slaves moving into our space every year!'

Lord Ryan struck back, 'We prove time and time again that the platform we build the Prismatic Imperium on is a diamond strengthened by the commitment of our Imperial societies working together.'

Prismatic Imperium allies will be in the Cubeo system. Factions pledging support include Paladin Consortium, Achenar Immortals, Empire 13th Legion, Aisling’s Angels, Pileus Libertas, (Aisling) Slack Prime, among others.

Prismatic military forces are being led by Overseer Jesse Ladde, whilst independent pilots are under the command of the Lord Warden UntamedZer0.

I doubt that's the reason, this was the first article I've written that ignored the 150 limit. Wasn't even that much over and it's a guideline anyway. It's just frustrating as I never get feedback and we tried telling longform stories on GalNet (at least twice) both of which ended up being left off because of the randomness of the submission process.
