"So it feels like you're living in an alternate reality."
- Chris Roberts

Considering how long they took to implement buggy hat shopping, I'm pretty sure Chris has been picking up his mail in that alternate reality for quite some time if he thinks any of this will come out this year.

a map jpg clumsily superimposed over the existing hud and clashing with the other elements rendering the map hard to read is a nice new UI? That looked barely functional and ugly as heck. Even CR was making his usual excuses about it all being redone. Refactor the redone refactoring, stat! This all looks like a plan to run in circles for years trickling out little content while continuing to milk existing fans until the breaking point. Where's the game? He missed E3 and is on the verge of releasing S42 supposedly and this is what he has?

planet names superimposed over other text badly?

More tech demo footage of Star Citizen: Horizons. Oh there's a spaceman. Maybe he'll do a t-pose shuffle back to the ship.

Meanwhile, year five... he tries to get back on the ship... <USE>

Planet PG not very impressive so far.

"This is where ED will be in 10 years" someone says on the channel. Mmm hmmm.

"its the new type of game, the AAAAA, 10x gooder than AAA and 2 time priceless"

Back to wandering around a CryEngine map. Yes, they have a few good artists working for them but the overall design remains... so drab and derivative. For all his crowing about the lore and history that make this series of promises automatically better than Elite and NMS, it's a characterless universe. You know you're in trouble when the only life is provided by a noodle machine.

I'll have to say I actually thought it looked rather nice, great use of 3D UI elements imo.

Just wish the audience would stop being super         loud for every single tiny thing and let him get on with the presentation.

No clip range? I can see that working, erm, well.

HUD's improved, and some of the footage is quite pretty. Assuming atmospherics simulated then that's nice.

Not entirely sure how well this will all work with lots of players in an instance, though.

However, the ship physics as a 3rd party... pretty bad. No weight to them. [blah]

[big grin] oh god this cgi pre-rendered trailers are getting amusing they can't even climb back on the ship pad[big grin]

IMO the way CR talks about NMS and ED is very condescending. I think he should avoid the topic or just say their approach is different, not better. This in a gamedev is very off-putting.

I'll just leave it at that.

Well, it will bounce back very soon, they can't deliver half of what they are promising and this is just preaching for the faithful, unless they release a steady game this is all empty words, again.
