Directly you did not say it, agreed, but you were implying that he should not play the game he wants, and he wants to do the Sothis run. People can and should play the game he/she wants to play and if that includes getting 20 sqillion credits for moving poop, then let people do it. I guess that all he wanted to say. (And me)

Here, let me distill it down for you:

1. I've also made millions hauling poop from Sothis as well as other long range haulage missions. I've ALSO made millions playing just about every other facet of the game imaginable.
2. My point was to highlight that the information requested is already out there so do we really need another thread on the topic?
3. I was not telling you how to play the game in any way, I have zero issues with you doing long haul trading and making uber-bucks doing it, blaze your own trails.
4. I was using a form of wit, known as sarcasm, evidently completely lost on the both of you.

I am afraid sir, 'Sarcasm' NEVER comes over in a written format. it is often lost on the readers and the writers too! stick to facts is the best way.

I really can't see the sarcasm, instead it simply looks like a case of complete overreaction on your behalf more so than sarcasm.

I started this thread not because "oh noez my grinding spot someone help me find another plx".. I'm asking where people will go next as Sothis is under UA attack and will most likely go offline.. I'm not a pro forum member but I think I'm right in saying that UA bombs don't happen often so asking what peoples plans are in a thread is quite valid enough for me considering some CMDR's have a lots of assets there and some would even consider it their home.

It's actually sad to see how much effort and passion some people put in making other people miserable.

With no other gain whatsoever for their gaming. Absolutely only thing achieved by this is knowing you made gametime miserable for others. Sad.

Fair enough if the sarcasm was missed.

As for UA bombing - it goes on more than you may realise, hence why I feel there has been quite the reaction to the Sothis bombing.

Well, it's twofold really I suppose. There's the camp that are coming at it from the direction of being annoyed that their credit mill is drying up and there's also the camp that have an issue with the UA bombing mechanic.

I've seen more name calling and vitriolic behaviour in the threads concerning the bombing of Sothis than I've seen for a long time. I think my post was a reaction to that and as my sarcastic tone was not conveyed then I've inadvertently offended you, my apologies. That wasn't my intent, merely to try and lighten the mood a little with some of my humour amongst a sea of dark and brooding threads about the whole issue.

If that backfired (which it evidently did) then you have my sincere apologies.

I shall now disappear back to my corner of space and be quiet.

Oh, after getting in another run or two from Sothis before it goes offline - just for old times sake.

So how come you make a difference between empire aligned and other players when it comes to this easy-mode credit method? I don't really get it, i mean someone could join an Empire aligned power just to do some Aditi runs after reading this, and leave it after they are done with it. I had and still have a very good oppinion about your bombing, but this time you are wrong. You shouldn't make this an Empire vs others thing, this is about something else. You wouldnt accept a fed for example to join your Aditi blockade? That's plain stupid.

The thing is with SOTHIS is the missions are kosha so there's never any attention. Even ROBIGO Snake Missions for less pay don't get too heated.

Go to Maia, Obsidian Orbital and Darnielle's Progress and stack hauling missions from there. A trade conda can net around 30 mill on average compared to 40 from Sothis/Ceos, but the average travel distance to deliver is 300 LY from Maia compared to 400 from Sothis/Ceos. You might need to stack 20 data delivery missions to PRE labs and TII research to build rep at first before you start hauling and it's nice to get some materials for engineers in the process while doing that.

In fact I have never made an effort to hunt for spesific materials outside of mission rewards for my engineer upgrades. So far got most of my ships upgraded to rank 3-5 FSD, Shield and engine upgrades just from using the rewards from missions.

A Python would be better to start with when prepping for ranks and initial hauls since some of the destinations require medium pad capability.
