The best part is it was all to hide this glitch:

Yet at the same time it shows how their 'sort of/kind of/like...' realistic thruster modelling was a bunch of lies. Yeah right, get any plane/spacecraft to go vertically on Y axis while rotating 360 at the same time, just flight assist off in a gravity well with atmosphere, so cool, it's so amazing

Is this conspiracy thing still going or are you having a laugh? [big grin]

Dude, this is the same with infinite thrust thrusters that make the flight model feel weak. You can go forward full speed, then go 90 degrees up with not an inch more forward (yes there are a few, but compare to anaconda breaking from just 30 at landing, joke), they just apply infinite amount of thrust backwards and from below, boom, thrusters can't flame into the ship, right? How is all this magic happening? Try flight assist off in ED on planet surface with gravity and match elevator speed and do that perfect turn when coop friend is watching, 23 times in a row. Even eagle or condor will not do that straight line while rotating, this was smoke/mirror

Given that you put that in quotes, do you realise you're the only person in this thread who has actually said that?

What? Are you referring to literally the irony behind it or the fact that multiple people called it a "pre-rendered trailer/cut-scene" to try and diminish Star Citizen presentation / work? The only truth in that ironic phrase is that it was indeed an awesome demo.

Never saw anyone calling it "pre-rendered" or "cut-scene". But it's funny how you people all use this tactic to diminish what was actually criticized or questioned, to try to dismiss that as wrong or conspiracy, usually twisting what was questioned, criticized, doubted.

Hey! Earlier 2013, people were saying that this game wouldn't come out by the end of 2014, and all fanboys screamed "Oh, look, the haters, conspiring against RSI. Nice tin-foil hat" right? Look where we are today. Imagine someone stating that by the end of 2016, nto even 5% of the game-as-described would be released without not even a single core mechanic ready. Just imagined someone saying that and how guys like you would answer... Oh! Conspiracy! Ban the hater!!!

Another example is when people refer Star Citizen to be a marketing scam and you guys quickly generalize to "Oh, you said that Star Citizen is a scam" which is very far to be the same thing, but well... it works for your purposes of try to dismiss every concern or doubt or even when facts are brought to the table and proven CR as a clown lying all the time.

As a last resource, of course, you start to attack the messenger and claim that "had many discussions with such person outside of the current one" and blablabla. The true is, every single tactic of CR, RSI and its cult is very well know by many people today. It's hard to you guys to convince anyone when you keep repeating the same old lame tries to defend what cannot be defended, in general.

The fact remains... All SC demos in the last 5 years were awesome... but meanwhile... in game and in their store... Well.. some people never learn the lesson, or pretend to have no memory.

Star Citizen: Around The Verse 3.4 - DE
<strong><strong>

TLDR

Intro & Other information

  • Gamescom was success and many new backers and folks came to the show floor booth
  • SC Alpha 2.5 and 2.6 features were displayed during the Friday Presentation with the exciting announcement of Star Marine coming in 2.6.
  • The 3.0 demo was also positively received and it took many tireless hours by dev’s around the world to bring to together.
Behind the Scenes: Quest Giver

  • A big part of creating a living and breathing universe is populating it with compelling characters who feel real
  • Saw a first glimpse with Mile Eckhart during the GamesCom demo
  • CR composes the scene how he wants it using multiple takes; the quadcam data and timecode is solved
  • The solved data comes back to CIG in pieces and is merged together to make the scene work
  • The scene is pre-visualised using pre-existing animations which are replaced with the solved motion capture data Any motion capture, facial, environmental issues are resolved
  • Everything is polished and a lighting pass is performed
  • Currently the scene is pre-rendered to Flash video and triggered in engine
  • In the future it will be rendered as picture-in-picture live in the engine
Behind the Scenes: Navigation Mesh

  • They use a navigation mesh system for the AI navigation.
  • They use an in-game level where they have a landing pad and spinning Constellation - each with a character.
  • Both NPCs travel between three points and perform animations at each point.
  • It works because the object container informs the AI which logger navigation mesh they are in, which navigation mesh is being connected to and which zone is being connected to.
  • When the navigation system is idle you can see nothing is moving and therefore the AI can be more optimized.
  • When he leaves the ship the game double checks that nothing has happened.
  • You can see the volume of the navigation mesh on the landing pad but not on the ship. To edit the ship navigation mesh volume you’d need to edit the template for the Constellation.
Behind the Scenes: Gamescom

  • Showfloor was awesome - it was busy.
  • At some points the queue for the game went around their booth and blocked access to the neighbours. It could take up to 3 hours to get in.
  • They were handing out merchandise left, right and centre.
  • Throughout the week, Disco was streaming with Deejay Knight, Captain Richard, Twerk17 and Bad News Baron.
  • All of the volunteers at the booth were backers.
  • Brian Chambers loved seeing the reactions of people as their minds were blown.
Behind the Scenes: Press

  • They go to Gamescom because it’s the biggest, closest to fans and they can talk directly to the press.
  • The press like the personal one-on-one appointments with Chris.
  • They were focusing on showing procedural planets and a slice of everything the game will have.
  • Everything that was shown to the press was then shown to the backers.
  • They have a good relationship with the press, CIG trusts the press and the press trusts CIG.
Community Update w/Tyler Witkin

  • Anvil Terrapin sale continues along with the Q&A’s which part one is available and part two releases Friday.
  • This month’s Jump Point is available to subscribers featuring Grim Hex and head character development.
    • Two vault updates this week featuring early WIP Terrapin concepts and procedurally generated planet screenshots.
  • Gamescom was a huge success thanks to the many volunteers, and live steamers Twerk17, Deejay Knight, BadNewsBaron, and Captain_Richard.
  • This week’s MVP goes to Algared, BrettW, and GentleJes for organising and hosting this year's CruxCup, an ingame racing tournament.

Just go back to the post-gamescom pages in the thread and you will easily find plenty of quotes.

Just post the quotes here with link, it's your claim. Most people claimed it was on rails and it was in moments. Example: elevator moves with constant speed down, while the ship accelerates downwards with G of the planet, you have to constantly bump it up to maintain constant speed, while rotating 360 and waving to your bro commando, ez, do it with hotas and FA OFF as this is your explanation of super piloting skills, not scripted? 23 times in a row?

Are you sure that people accused to be "pre-rendered" the whole thing and/or the whole thing to be a cut-scene as you made appear that people have been saying? Are you really sure of that? Because, I was reading this thread pages ago. I don't remember to read what you read.

It was discussed in the following pages after the gamescom demo, just start from page 650 onwards.

100% I got a picture from the last build-process meeting.

I bet that their build-process alone is way ahead of basically everyone else in the industry.

I bet that redditor has no idea how CI works and thus even this simple automation is like magic to him.

Then again SC is the alpha and the omega. Soon they'll invent eventual-consistency, just you wait.

Yep. Another check mate, since you are unable to prove your statement.

The troubling thing is, HE was trying to call it that all the time, now tries to claim it was called like this...

This is problematic:

that presentation was SO GOOD that made some people think it was pre-rendered hehehe.
Kudos do them, best live video-game presentation I've seen in my entire life.

Page 650 and the same agenda already, but not even with his own 'pre-rendered' quotes to quote, nice

I already provided him with several quotes through PM , no need to wash dirty laundry in public [up]
