Yes, this. What the hell were people expecting?! They literally said "The hunt starts at the 28th". Starts. As in, it won't conclude untill later. So yeah, the culmination of this hunt will very probably coincide with the release of 2.2.
Seriously, anybody that expected MAJOR THRGOIDS APOCALYPSE N STUFF today really should get a grip. I hear people being disappointed, referring to the shots of alien ships interrupting Braben's interview. It only stands to reason adding major game assets like that would only take place
in a major update, i.e. when 2.2 drops.
I don't know about you guys, but I had fun today just following this thread and all the tinfoil theories, watching some Twitch streams of people that were on site, and just the general buzz surrounding all of this.
Come 2.2, I think more spectacular events will be waiting and I for one am fine with that.
Lol SDC killing all players in Apademak and Hunting down the Cobra to wipe it out.
At least theyre having some fun out of this......

Well it is bank holiday in the UK tmrw, may be a two dayer.
The UK as far as Westminster is concerned then....No it's a bank Holiday in England and Wales .........
So you had fun doing things that didn't involve actually playing the game? While that may be entertaining, I think that says quite a bit about the current state of ED.
Now that the day is concluded my final thoughts are;
- The endgame of this mystery is still exciting, given that it appears to be alien-related. Or, at the very least, an unusual incident.
- The execution, for me however, is bad for two reasons;
First reason - It's boring. I thought it was going to be a case of having to follow a ship through a series of jumps to be lead to a unique USS or POI that we could scan for the next part of the puzzle. Instead it is 3 fetch quests.
Second reason - 3 fetch quests that you could only really see if you had the right instancing. Now I don't mind not being 'the guy' that meets these people. I get that it is community focused and not individual focused. But due to the instancing, this felt like an event that was only happening to 'Some' players. We're all in an 'open' universe but only 'some' people truly got the 'chance'. This is the reason some people feel like their day was 'wasted'.

Overall though I do approve of the interactivity from FD with its player base. That is only a good thing. I just feel like there is room for improvement.
I'm trying to be fair with criticism. I'm happy to see where it goes and keep following it, but my gameplay time will be spent levelling engineers before 2.2 I think.
So, is this the end of the thread? Is Thread 9 started yet?
Ok, sat in Lave with a few T of Brandy. Am I just going to sell it at Scott Orbital or wait and see if something pops up?
I was just looking at their names myself. I think you may have stopped a bit too soon...
Mahina is indeed a Hawaiian name, meaning 'Moon' (and it's a girl's name so come on folks, let's get the pronouns right; it is the 34th century after all)
Logan is derived from the Gaelic 'lagan' which is a diminutive of 'lag' which means... hollow.
So, thus far we have HOLLOW and MOON.
*tinfoil intensifies*
Have fun with solving the riddle by ferrying goods to please the hintgivers.
Not a task i delight in. Feels like wasted time, though the SC instance was quite stable for me.
Maybe this all was done to test massive player count in single systems and test the infrastructure more,
than to actually give us hints towards something "special".
Back to pirating poor little transports then.
