They *never* said it is about Thargoids. There are other races out there.

Thats not a Thargoid thats a Space Crab.

From my Rift research I believe they are an experimental creature that hatch from Barnacles.

The UAs have been dropping them around the bubble.

What killed it though, possibly the three pilots in their SUVs.
