Frontier's Secret British Discount

I just came back from the UK where I discovered the amazingness that is Brown Sauce (HP). I now have some in my home and will gladly pay UK businesses extra for the knowledge. ;)

Ah the cornerstone of a good bacon buttie! I heard recently that a lot of Americans don't know what sausage rolls are, please tell me that isn't true :(

Does no one read the news anymore? Frontier has kept prices pegged at 2015 exchange rates and hoped no one would notice. In the past, they've fixed these issues by raising prices in other countries. Now they either need raise prices in GBP (haha, yeah right) lower them abroad (to reflect reality, not going to happen), they need to create a firewall that identifies a customer by their country of origin (which can be faked anyway), or keep things the same and let ignorant in foreign countries pay a little more.

My guess is since the last option requires zero overhead and makes them more money...

In my case, I buy paint jobs to support Frontier so going cheap defeats the purpose. My only question is, which costs them more: bank exchange rate fees from accepting my USD donation or money lost from me using PayPal in GBP?

Average petrol price in the UK right now is £1 per litre.

4.54 litres in a gallon, so a gallon is about about £4.54

Pound to Dollar rate is currently 1.31

Therefore in the UK a gallon of petrol (sorry I can only call it gas once a day :p) is $5.94

I only bought Elite once. I fill my car up all the time. :(

Would love £1 a litre - £1.08 to £1.15 in W of Scotland right now - maybe i can get my fuel by email er ....

How much does it cost an Nvidia 1080 in US (or a RX 480) and how much it costs in EU or UK?

Where is the "resentment" thing in that?

It's true! I don't know what that is. Though usually I'm finding (through conversations with my friend in Folkestone) that sometimes we have the very same things but use very different names.

Not totally sure what sausage rolls are, BUT we do have scrapple, which is amazeballs. I do concur that HP Brown Sauce is wonderful and am lucky I can get it at Wegmans.

+1. I forgot about the bread, but you should forgive that part of it. I saw how much BACON(!) was in the pic and got carried away. All I could see was BACON(!). What's this brown sauce thing?

:)

Thread convergence.

What's that stack of pound notes doing beside the WC?

There's good news for you Americans. Once Theresa May commits us to Article 50 an American Dollar will be be worth a million squillion trillion of our Pound notes. You'll be able to phone up David Braben and demand changes to the game, and get him to say naughty sexy things to you down the phone if that's the sort of thing you like.

Elite Dangerous is $29.99 USD and is £19.99 GBP

£19.99 GBP when converted comes out to $26.20 USD Last time I checked, 26.20 < 29.99

Is there some sort of deep resentment towards Americans? Or should us dumb yanks just remember to purchase in Paypal using GBP so we get the secret discount too?

This seems to be the case with all items in the Frontier Store.

-K

As an American, I'm not upset to pay $3.97 more than Brits. That's pocket change, only a few minutes of work on the job. $29.99 is the cost of two or three lunches so who cares?

OP, you could say the same about the Oculus Rift: US$599 = GB£458 (as of this post). But the UK price is £549 (US$718), from Game.co.uk. So I'm not sure what your problem is tbh. :)
