Well for an outsider it really seems like some overly emotional attachment is in place, an extremely negative one we might say.
The decision to keep reading / posting in a thread of a game they don't seem to like at all. Or even consider worthy of the attention it gets from the people that like to play it and like to support it is entirely from the person own will. Posting videos and material related with Star Citizen, it's trailers, video-show's, gameplay, it's mechanics, performance, issues etc is the very reason these kind of threads exist, skimming over to other game's threads one finds the same related game thread trailers, gameplay, screenshots, debates and so on. For example, I don't find EvE compelling at all, I tried to get into it as I loved the brute sci-fi setting and idea of building a space empire, but as it turned out it wasn't for me and I understood that, yet I'm not in the EvE threads constantly pointing out people that post news about it or re-posting it's "flaws"repeatedly ad-nauseam or blaming the company for them. Same with NMS and a bunch of other games. I moved on to focus on the things I like. That's why I post about Star Citizen. Because I like Star Citizen. As others do. If people have a problem with that, well, it's their problem not mine. [big grin]
Outsider? Ok, that's a slightly incorrect assumption that I can correct you with now, although I'm pretty sure I have done before. I have $125 in CIG, that makes me an 'insider', I am in a small way, partly responsible for those Clowns taking people for granted and the current state of play, and I regret being so as I have made very few mistakes regarding money and trust during my reasonably long and otherwise very content life.
I am definitely extremely negative of CIG, both with my level of trust in them, and my complete and utter disdain for cults or any description of group hypnosis/hysteria and any other entity that takes advantage of any person for any reason, they are usually easy to spot as they all use the same tactic of embedding cheap sales tactics in their videos, "Small packets of information burried in vast swathes of nonsense/white noise/repetition/sales ads" in all of their advertising and practices, all RTV's are vast swathes of nonsense/repetition/sales ads with a very small amount of actual info.
The SC thread here is the same as any SC thread anywhere else on the internet except for RSI's own site, very few people are having 'fun' unless you count people like me ramming ships into others and laughing at their anger in the chat. That is literally the only fun bit of gameplay I've found, and I can only be build the enthusiasm to do that for maybe 20 minutes, once every 4 months. SC gets its flaws discussed a lot because;
1. It has so many, my god so very many.
2. It's massively late regardless of scope change, budget change etc, S42 is still exactly the same premise as just after KS so they've had time and money to get that done yet haven't as yet.
3. It's a huge manure storm of controversy over just about everything that would see any other company closed by sensible people long before now.
4. It has alost zero 'fun' gameplay unless you enjoy glitches, bugs, problems, 30gb patches, constant issues, Cryengine 3 in a broken form and constantly being sold things that you would never be dumb enough to buy.
5. It's headed by a man who um's and ah's his way through pre prepared scripts and just says 'yes' to everything without the foresight of monetary, chronologic, technical and engineering debt.
6. Neopotism running rife in the most enjoyably 'in your face' fashion known to man since the invention of frilly knickers.
7. CIG selling assets four years ago that still have no design, no greybox, nothing, but here, buy a hoodie, buy a mug, buy an arm patch, buy a mouse mat, buy just about anything that isn't a game.
8. Heck I could list at least another 20 bullet points of reasons just off the top of my head why people might be a little bit fudged off with how their money has been spent, or how they have been strung along for years but I want to go play BF1 and there's a 30,000+ word article on gameranx that does the hard work for me.
The spoilers covering up the tat are much appreciated though fella, I don't mean to give you a hard time over these things but my god do I question your critical thinking skills sometimes.
