I get the distinct impression that Chris doesn't quite grasp the difference between delaying a release for N months to fine-tune and polish the gameplay, and repeatedly delaying the testing for N years before you can even get to the fine-tuning an polishing stage.
And it's not like “everyone else is doing it” is a very good excuse to begin with.
Eh. That's comparatively mild. I mean, there's hardly even a death threat or wish of bodily harm among them.
I still find it hilarious that they think “Derek Smart” and “…but Line of Defence” constitute some kind of argument.

We just don't understand delays.
This is simply a "tweak and polish" pass that will only last 6 months. 18 at a push. They just have to flick a switch after all, so there's nothing to worry about. The game is feature complete and the whole universe has been lovingly constructed. Buy an Idris

One of the funniest things is that by repeatedly citing Derek, accusing people of being Derek and launching attacks on Derek no matter who they are speaking with and how irrelevant he is to the conversation they think they are somehow helping SC.
The reality is the citizens have done more to draw attention to and spread the word of their anti-chris than Derek ever could have done.

It really is - I probably never would have heard of him if not for the SC fandom constantly bringing him up.
If Derek Smart didn't exist, I suspect the 'citizens' would have found another candidate for Two Minutes Hate anyway. Scepticism about SC can't be based on objective analysis of facts, so it must be a conspiracy...

Well without knowledge about game development that "objective analysis of facts (LOL)" allways reeks of theory-crafting to suit some vindictive charades and that's why it's ignored by everyone beside forum warriors.
This charades only seem to matter in this little bubbles disconnected from reality, the truth is, that when all is said and done, it will be seen as major a waste of time from people with nothing better to do (me included). [big grin]
