A quick search of this thread reveals no one has used the word "Farragut".
A quick and easy lore explanation: a private shipping company has decided it's time to expand. They want to upsize, but also want to tap into a potentially revolutionary market; hauling ships. Their method? Farragut cruisers. We know Farraguts can hold up to two corvettes and multiple wings of fighters. We also know that Farraguts travel in hyperspace differently than our ships, in the same way Jacque's station moves (correct me if I am wrong), so technically these haulage cruisers should be able to make ridiculous jumps, even laden.
It would be grand! There could CGs to get them all built (maybe some Engineer tie ins?) and fancy Galnet articles! And every once in a while, you will be docked and hear "capital class signature detected"', pop out the mail slot, and be greeted by a friendly Farragut, with a swarm of condors buzzing about it. Maybe some type-6's running from the ship to the station, and back with holds full of cargo or fuel for the behemoth.
Imagine the piracy!!! Find one of these in a distress call and get loads of juicy cargo while fighting off wings of condors and Eagles. Maybe hijack a ship held within the cargo hold?
Maybe one of these illustrious cruisers could be carting some sort of.... other ship..... Now you've got some really juicy plot material. Who is the shipping company? Who are they connected to? Is it Caine-Massey? Is CM even important?
You decide, Frontier.
