The Star Citizen Thread v5

Who has claimed here, in this topic, that they can personally do that?

No just stating that everyone here is ignorant to the realities of running a medium to large business.

To even try to critique someone's management ability when you have no clue what that management even entails, is very naive indeed.

Are you absolutely SURE you don't get paid by CIG? It's OK if you do, we won't judge. It's even better if you are paid in proportion to the money they make monthly.

Because otherwise it's really not healthy, this way you post about a video game.

That would be the same as asking if you were on Derek Smart payroll. Pretty stupid right? :) I have my reasons to make the assessments that I do, I've been following the game for some years now, I established years ago that this would take 5 years minimum (2016/2017 to reach beta + SinglePlayer campaign). I also said in 2014 that they would get $100 million dollars easily. So the thins is, all these assumptions are based on the reality of this project and others of similar scope. It's not based on "magic" German, British or Muricanism lol. It's based on real life research and events. Ofc there's a bit of faith in the mixture, but I just see it as a gamers goodwill to see something great happen. I'm a no frills positive person, I'm moved by ambition and positiveness not cynicism or hate. I don't feed on the failure of others as my life is fuelled by the opposite.

Anything by CCP, Naughty Dog, Bethesda, Electronic Arts, Epic, Ubisoft, or Activision should do.

Please do link only the very best live demo gameplays that, in your opinion, surpass CIG Gamescom Demo, please.

I love how hard is it for people to understand that some might find a state of SC after so long in development unsatisfactory. No, it must some deeply hidden conspiracy led by evil CEOs hiding in a shadow, planning to stop dreams from happening.

Oops, excuse me. *hides evil tie and evil CEO cuff links*

I don't criticize his method so much as I criticize the results. As someone who has been managed by several different people on wildly differing software projects, I have a good idea of what a good manager produces. I admit, I wouldn't entirely understand what goes on at the top, but you know that when things come out well, in the end, those in charge were doing it right.

A criticism on Chris merely requires a look at his results...and those results are delays after delays after delays with bugs on top of bugs on top of bugs. Could he pull it all together? Maybe. But my CR confidence tank is running on fumes.

Maybe not directly and maybe it´s not him but there is a huge grey market as I said and they will do ANYTHING to protect their business just check this reddit/trade page....https://www.reddit.com/r/Starcitizen_trades/

Not really.

You don't have to know your molars from your canines to be able to say that a dentist that keeps fiddling with your knee caps might not be quite as competent as one would expect from their apparent job title.

Do tell exactly how you can possibly know what experience of business management the contributors to this forum have. And while you are at it, provide evidence of your own qualifications.

You already insinuated that several times, I've said right from the start that my "investment" is minimal, 200€ since 2013 aka 5€ per month.
Besides, contrary to most of this thread belief, pro-Star Citizen backers couldnt care more about if you pledge or not, actually the comon say is that if you want to get into the game just go with the basic package, but if you are wanting a full fledged game to play just wait for beta. all you have to do is go on reddit and see for yourselves.

No one is saying "you must buy this", what we post against is the constant lies and mischief posted for lulz, the less people buy earlier the better. The game already has it's faithful backers they don't need main streamers going in expecting a full game and wasting bandwidth while complaining about bugs.

How old are you to think that there are not people on this forum working for larger and more renowned companies?

Do at least try to be consistent. One minute you are boasting (without evidence) that there are "thousands of gamers supporting [Robert] and thousands more joining in day by day", and now you are telling us that you don't want more backers. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...tizen-Thread-v5/page856?p=4462827#post4462827 So which is it?

I don't see where this says you know that the people in this thread don't have business management experience.

Your bona fides are fine enough but I don't see anything that represents leading a creative process, developing long-term strategy, or communicating complex vision into technical production.

You know, if we are going to get into judging everyone's background in order to have a discussion about a public figure taking in millions for promises.

You conveniently disregarded the first part of the question though.

Also,

There's no way to prove your credentials are even true. For example, I'm managing my own company which provides physical vapor deposition machines to industries that need them from various manufacturers and we can get custom made industrial coating machines to facilities too. We have business relations with hundreds of companies and employ about 150 people. I also have a PhD in materials science and engineering, specializing in surface modification techniques.

Now, how much of what I wrote is true?

That is and you know that,by the way I am backer 2 same as many ppl. that do not flow with your agenda....I do not need to insinuated anything what I said it´s a FACT,SC is the game with HUGE grey market and even before the game exist in the pre-alpha state CIG make sure to left that back door wide open so that some ppl. can use that opportunity and start their litlle business in return they knew that those will make sure to protect their own investments and with that they will protect the game itself....

You might want to reconsider that statement. We have a wide range of people here, some of whom are probably business owners and many people here work in IT. I've worked of software development projects as a project manager and i've managed over 100 people as part of a department.

To suggest that there are no people here qualified to comment is disingenious. Of course, it doesn't mean that everyone with an opinion of his management style has the knowlegde/experience necessary, plenty of armchair managers out there... but you cannot dismiss everyone.
