Because pushing themselves to make the best game possible is being dishonest. Sigh, CIG can't win can they.
Sure they can. They just need to be a bit more honest about the game's prospects and developments, and about their strategies to support that development.

What a coincidence that everything they do to make the game the best possible also earns them the maximum amount of money with the minimum amount of effort!

I guess this means EA is the best, most innovative developer of games EVER and they've never put money above game quality.

I don't know how they could be more open and honest about the game's prospects, development and strategies. Every week they showcase something that they work on, they post detailed monthly reports and do hour long live demo's of gameplay every show, that is more than your every-other development team. People just need to acknowledge that it's impossible for them to please everyone, there will allways be someone unhappy about something, allways. We've seen them adapt and evolve with their development and the way they communicate with the community show's that they do listen and care about the relevant issues highlighted by the community.

If their focus was only the money why would they re-build ships that were already sold to up their quality instead of making new ones to get more cash? [rolleyes]

The only thing of minimum amount of effort here is the hating on Star Citizen. Always circling around the same false premises while ignoring a hugely ambitious game being made right in front of your eyes...

Dude, the problem is that CIG don't seem to be going about making the best game possible in anyway near the most efficient way possible, although they have been pretty damn good at extracting money from backers... which they'respending on being inefficient!

Lol, that's not "the most open ever". You want open, try Rimworld, where they post daily build changelogs, and actively discuss game mechanics in the forums.

Have they been transparent in how they've spent your money? Do they have any strategy for delivery at all keeping in mind CR's statements that they're still working on specs and additional features?

Demo showcasing does not make a product. It's all fluff until you, the consumer, can play it!

Yes... including some people with legitimate concerns about how the project is being run.

How to shut them up? Release a game. Not a demo, and alpha or a beta, but a final v1.0 release.

We've seen them adapt and evolve with their development and the way they communicate with the community show's that they do listen and care about the relevant issues highlighted by the community.

They've become very good at selling a nebulous "dream", I'll grant you that.

But again, all the "communication" is irrelevant without a product to back it up.

Spare us with the little team indie games please, were talking about the most ambitious game ever attempted with a team of 330 dev's spread across 4 studios + Contractors.

And if you want to discuss game mechanics in the forums just go ahead and do it: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/categories/ask-a-developer

Then, to be truly open, they should be setting the gold standard with a community staff member who keep the plan up to date.

This is not actually that difficult to achieve if the company is structured in an orderly way with good management. All the project managers would submit their timelines weekly, the PR guy/girl updates their master list. In fact, there should be a master timeline somewhere in the company. A sanitized version of that should be trivial to make.

I hope for your sake that you are on the payroll of CR because I fear for your sanity if you really believe half the stuff you are saying and the whole thing goes down in flames.

Yeah they are good in keep informing us about nonsensical things, who come to visit Lesnick in the hospital, what they are eating for lunch,Stand for Sandi´s mental breakdown, pictures from Chris hollidays and etc........but when it comes to the important things we can´t see s.it.....or hardly anything useful....

However, when other dev teams say stuff its generally true. Whats the point of bombarding players with 'development info' if half the stuff is contradicting the other half or just simply false? Whats the point of all that Star Marine vids, reports, info and all if the whole thing doesnt exist for the player? Whats the point of detailed plans if your margin of error is 'a decade'? What the point of showing me all kinds of fluff and nonsense but after five years having pretty much NONE of the core mechanics in game, or even a set-in-stone document telling us how these mechanics will be?

To put it simple: there is a difference between 'being open and honest' and 'talking a lot'. :)

So what do you think can be compared with Star Citizen?

Witcher 3, apparantly. I guess SC fans allow you to compare SC with any random fantastically succesful game, as long as you add SC will have higher fidelity.
