Well do you think that the Gamescom judges opinion matters more than the general world-wide gaming media and the gamers that post there?
All you have to do is read the comments both on youtube or the gaming site articles to notice a trend of admiration for what they showed.

You know what was the most awarded game in Gamescom 2015?

Best Gamescom Game
Best Playstation Game
Best PC Game
Best Multiplayer Game

Star Wars Battlefront

Nuffsaid? [rolleyes]

Tell me am I missing something, if SC is so much fun to play why are you spending so much of your time here on the FD forums and not playing SC, puzzling.

uh? can you be more transparent. Sell the ships for all i care. But keeping quiet on what? or did i give a gag order. Putting words in people's mouth.

Well you said that people who criticize CIG had agenda....I am just asking you what is your story?Maybe you are one of those that protecting their litttle Investment?Maybe you are the one with the agenda?

Nope not even close. Try again. I'm just someone that doesn't join either camp (any longer). An until something happens that destroy this project. I don't crusade my way to oblivion.

Also my investment is under 100 bucks. Not much of an agenda buddy.

No. What I think about their opinion does not in any way matter, or even relate to, why SC failed to get awarded because of their supposedly spectacular presentation.

It does matter to you. It really matters to you. Just admit it. You need something anything to fuel the train.

You say it "Doesn't matter" but then you want a answer to a question that again "Doesn't Matter". It was a great presentation and that's it. Did ED get any awards for their presentation at the same event? no because it doesn't matter. It's not opposite day.

The same question could be asked to you. Why are you on this thread with Star Citizen in it's name, when you don't even care about it. Why don't you ran along and go play Elite? is it because of something stopping you? nothing is.

Doesn't really matter. The question remains: if it really were that spectacular, why didn't it get any rewards?

Well if it doesn't really matter the question is moot. Battlefront was the most awarded game in 2015 and Star Citizen didn't get any award in 2016 so what?

If the project is planned so well and they take their time because they want to get it right, then why are they rebuilding ships at all?

Because the project was planned for X amount of funding and they got XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX and instead of keeping the money and going with the small scope plan, re-planned the whole thing from the ground up to provide a game with the quality and scope allowed by said funding. ;)

Well not saying that you are the one of those but we dealing here with the Company that even before the pre-alpha state of the game make sure to leave back-door wide open for the Grey market traders...and I can ensure you that those people had the agenda 100%.....

That would be a fair question if my post count on this thread was in any way comparable to Cmdr Orlando, but since I doubt you checked or even engaged your brain before posting your reply I`ll leave you off this time.;)

Also game development is a flowed beast. Why do people think so many things change or get cut from E3 to release? with video games.

Nice dodge. Next time engage you're own brain to answer the question next time. Thank you.

Because you fit the same mold as the rest of the people that visit this thread, that have a post history related to it. It's to vent you're own anger at something you don't even care about. So many of you say.

Heres a video to remind some of our ultra positive friends why some of us are skeptical of CR and his grandiose claims especially when it comes to fancy gamescom demos. Its clear from the video that Rob is very skeptical of how things were being run in CIG before he left and his belief that the famed 'Escapist' article had more than a grain of truth in it. My dissatisfaction with CIG originally stemmed from their reassurances that mouse controls would be 'nothing like Freelancer' which was simply a bare faced lie. This video confirmed my dim view of the project as well as CIG and prompted me to pull all funding.

[video=youtube;2PLwo3YCY_8]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PLwo3YCY_8[/video]

The game is 3 years late with barely any working mechanics and 1 little system map after 123 million dollars. Just because any thread discussing negative aspects of SC's development gets swept away to the 'concern' section of CIG's official forums doesn't mean the same can or will happen here. The only positive thing that can happen that will change peoples minds outside the CIG echo chamber is the delivery of a real tangible product with fun working mechanics, relatively bug free that we can actually play rather than watch on choreographed demonstrations(pledged in 2012 and have seen enough 'in game' footage to be incredibly skeptical of anything CIG put out). What is needed is delivery not words or dreams, the hard stuff, CIG need to stop begging for money and selling dreams and put their MVP cards on the table just like honest developers such as Frontier have done.

You say it "Doesn't matter"
…because what I think about their opinion is in no way, shape, or formed related to the question of why SC failed to get awarded for their supposedly spectacular presentation — one that was apparently so amazing that Orlando here has gone on record saying he has never seen anything better.

The question is why the discrepancy? So far, Orlando's only answer suggests that CIG is catastrophically bad at PR.

Well if it doesn't really matter the question is moot.
No. It means the question remains, and you haven't really answered it yet, and my opinion on something completely unrelated does not change any of that.

I'm getting paid alright, with laughs [big grin]
Since when posting news info and media about a game in it's own thread something awful?
Maybe someone alt-tabbed into the wrong thread. [rolleyes]

News and information is fine, its when you post propaganda that people seem to have a problem with. That comes across as advertising.

Another non sequitur, i knew you were hinting at you're agenda. I just didn't believe you would make it that clear.

Also; what's that about things getting very much worse now? due tell. Don't hide this juice insight. Because if nothing happens then i'm coming back here to see you're response and you go into hiding or make up an excuse. Actually been waiting for 3 years for the doom and gloom to happen like the end of the world many predict per decade.

I'm honest and up front about things, that's why I speak my mind when it comes to people posting obviously promotional and misleading information here, and in other places including the brown sea.

When has it ever gotten better? When has it ever hit the level of quality stated in the Kickstarter? When has CIG not been involved in some stupid controversy or covering up of problems? When have they been upfront and honest about how they spend their backers money? When have people had no reason to question them? That's the issue, you're all waiting for this one big event that utterly destroys it before anyone will admit there's problems, the problems are the smaller issues that over time build and build until there are more cuts than band aids. Of course it's going to get worse, they keep over promising, over reaching, over hyping, if they can't live up to even the earliest and easiest targets then it can only get worse.

New companies with no proven ability, letting their mouths run away with lofty promises are doomed to fail at the best of times, when led by someone with a track record of bluster and over promising without any formal accountability, it can only end one way.

Personally, when I see comments about individuals on this forum having 'agendas', I tend to look into the posting history of the person making such claims.

No my friend you are still not engaging your brain before posting as you failed to prove my point wrong and just came back with a meaningless retort.

Give me information. That this game is doomed to fail. I don't need ramblings.

You said you know. Then give me proof, not assumptions.

If you are asking my opinion I would say that most probably because CIG didn't even tried to compete at all. This was their first time with a booth in Gamescom faire and i there they focused on showcasing what's playable now to new gamers. Since Star Citizen is still very much in production and so is Squadron42 their main focus was all about nailing that Demo presentation for the backers and the world to see. Which they did. Exceptionally. http://imperialnews.network/2016/09/funding-impact-of-gamescom/

I did indeed prove you're point wrong.

Because the question you asked was like asking. Why fans of a sports team don't go to the stadium were that team plays (when they have the money and power too) but whether go to a bar or stay at home? because they want to. It's a choice and not a rule. You don''t get to question why, he's here posting and not playing the game. Because the same could be said for anyone, like you as i asked. Fact of the matter is you don't know if he plays or not. He or she is not here every single day posting. Or maybe just maybe the game is not were they want it and wish to wait for something with more meat on the bone. A lot of factors.

So yes a brain was engaged. Though i thought insults were an offence here? or do i have to report it.

I am, and at least that's a somewhat sensible answer (even if getting to it was a bit like pulling teeth). The thing is, this just shouts to me that CIG is very insecure about what they've come up with, which isn't a good sign.

You're going to edit your own post, then, presumably? [rolleyes]

May I ask what your definition of failure would be cabbage, maybe 50% of the stretch goals? As you can probably appreciate, "failure" is going to have a pretty nebulous definition.
