Look at the last four years, seriously. It's all amounted to 2.5 as it stands today, LOL!!! All those really pretty ship adverts, all those "yes we totally want to add that" vids, look at the state of it. It's pretty easy to just look at the companies history to see how it's future will turn out.
Don't take my word for it though, go play the game, oh nope, can't do that still, it doesn't even have a working economy yet, or inventories (simplest thing to make) or anything else of substance either.
Now, give me proof that it will succeed, not assumptions.

My definition of failure has nothing to do with the stretch goals; as stretch goals are not absolute and are not a immediate addition timeline. Goals should be spread at as best as they can for that studio and whats most likely to be workable and functional for the game. Anyone that thinks otherwise are unreasonable and clearly lack the knowledge in regards to game development. (Note a lot of goals in development either get cut, moved forwards, moved back or changed throughout a games production). Now back to my definition as i went on a little tangent. A failure would be the game not showing any progress, CIG not interacting with the community, continued lack of general game development information, not having a functional version of 3.0 or 2.6 game not coming out after this year (Which is flexible to a limit). The company stalling and unorthodox methods start to creep into the frame.
But you're right failure is a nebulous meaning and it will mean different things to some people. But the game would have to be complete garbage or never come out in any playable way for me to call it a failure, though that can't happen until i get a version of the game in the form of the PU that showcases the improvements and new mechanics that CIG have worked on and hyped this past month. Because believe me i can only wait so long with just having the baby PU, AC and Arcorp. This was supposed to be the year of content.
Personally, when i see comments about individuals that clearly have agendas i surely look at their post history. Then it becomes clear as day on either side and i don't blindly see one agenda.

This isn't a sports stadium, your team isn't playing here. It's a videogame forum. For a videogame you have no interest in.
It's not like you can just wander in, it takes effort to post here. Not much I admit, but it's not an impulsive decision. It's something you have to actively decide to do. You have to say to yourself, "I'm going to take the necessary steps to join a community I have absolutely no interest in participating in, to post about Star Citizen and only Star Citizen".

That was an example. Do you not know what can example is? also someone in this very thread just called something in relation to SC the enemy. If that's not tribal then i don't know what is.
Also it's a videogame forum with a thread on a game that i'm interested in. What you're point? Also you're assuming i'm not interested in ED? the assumptions are grand.
Matter a fact the worse of the gaming community is tribal by default. By are very nature we are tribal. So yes it bleeds into video games.

Hehehe would a company insecure about their work showcased it live without safety net's for the whole world to see year after year? Even when they fail (Crash Roberts), bug or glitch in their demos they allways make a good impression, allways. That's one of the main reasons funding keeps on, people enjoy what they showcase and they enjoy their bold approach of doing it live. Very few company's go that extra mile to share with their community and world what they've been working on so intensely. That's why they get so much people continuously backing them.

Not really, no. If they did, we wouldn't be having this conversation (nor would the December livestream ever have happened). And it's not like they're doing anything special, other than the constant crashes and failures. Again, just look at what Infinity Ward has put out recently, or CCP for years on end.

I ask a question? i didn't put forth the insult. An if that results in me getting suspended then so be it. Don't shooter the messenger, it's a simple response. Since no one else is going to flag him that's for sure.

I'm assuming you're not five, so why do you think that's acceptable? How other people act doesn't justify your own behaviour, which you've fully admitted is tribal.
Perhaps the reason you get such a hostile reception is because of how you approach the conversation in the first place? (see above: "do you not know...").
You seem to assume the people posting criticism are doing it purely through spite, or jealously, or a desire to see "your team" fail. If CIG ultimately fails, it's not people posting about their problems that will have caused it... it's the actual problems. So stop trying to shoot the messenger, you keep missing and the gunfire keeps waking that cat.
The impression I get from CIG is that they have no idea what they are doing. The CEO is an awkward yes man who copies everything in sight and claims it as his own. He's placed his family in areas of power that arguably they shouldn't be in. The CIG staff does it's best to keep on track, but CR has the final say in everything. I don't think most of you realize how degrading and detrimental that is to people. I've been in jobs or freelance work where the boss/customer has outlined beautifully what they want, I create it and come back to them screaming their heads off I did it wrong. They've flipped 180 degrees and want something completely different, and now. It's why I get everything in writing, I made what you wanted per this email...
Add in the time differences and CR's inbox has to be so overflowing that it's impossible to figure out what is being done.
P.S. I did create this profile to talk to other people about SC on a forum for a game I hardly play. I tried the actual forums for SC, all threads were closed, I tried Reddit and was called a Goon after my 2nd question on what was going on. I pre-ordered in 2012, my UEE # is under 300, I was looking forward to a Wing Commander video game that wasn't going to be a MMO. What we've got 5 years later is a pre-alpha doesn't have patches, just full alpha downloads of 24.2 GB's.
P.S.S. Buy an Idris.
Add in the time differences and CR's inbox has to be so overflowing that it's impossible to figure out what is being done.

If you dont mind me asking (and in a heated topic such as this I mean it sincerely!): what do/did you look for in SC that you find lacking in ED (as you say you hardly play it). Often people showing up here with an interest in SC (regardless of scepticism) mindlessly bash ED on general principle. As you dont seem to be a raving SC-fanboy, I am interested to hear what your vision of your desired spacegame is. It could be interesting to both ED and SC 'fans'.

Srry but I don´t live in USA,UK or Germany.....and I am sure that they will be polite&nice if you visit their office´s that´s not the issue in here....CR LIED not once or twice he LIED many times so far,to be more precise I am sure that he LIES intentionally to deceit certain group of backers in the past by giving false statements about game flight mechanics or sometimes just to hype people with false relase dates and fishy advertisment.....that´s my main issue with them...2 many LIES....and every day there is few new one´s....
