We won't get any dev news even this week, they're probably saving the beta announcement for EGX (or whatever it's called) next week.

Even there we'll get just beta announcement for 2.2 and a recap of its features.
They have nothing to show for after 2.2, they will probably begin to work seriously on 2.3 only after the release of planet coaster.

I can add that, from their last stock exchange report, i guess they don't plan to cash in with season 3 before their next financial year (june 2017), so depending on how defered incomes work (i have no idea), we might get s3 preorders this Christmas,with a june 2017 release, or preorders on june 2017 with a december release.
So 2.3 might be as late as next spring, or worse.

Im hoping we will hear something in the next week or so. Maybe beta will start first week of October?
To try and get some bugs fixed.

Most importantly I would like to hear something from the devs, the silence scares me lol

The dev updates were pointless. They got rid of them before 2.1 and still had plenty to show in the pre 2.1 newsletters. When they are ready to show us stuff they will.

Well I reckon this week's newsletter will indeed announce the beta date, and I predict it will be in the next week or thereabouts - assuming the mid-Oct timeframe for 2.2 is still accurate AND the beta will go for more than a week. I'm not one for participating in the betas these days but I assume it would go for, what, 2 weeks? If that's the case, beta would need to start in about a week or so in order to squeeze it in before mid-Oct while also providing some crunch time to fix anything before release. All bets off if they're already expecting, behind the scenes, to delay it until Nov though.

And I don't blame Frontier for being a little quiet on it all thus far - they announced a lot of good stuff at Gamescom and need to focus on having evrything ready for 2.2 release (ie prioritisation of effort). I'd love to see a bit of a tease trailer though over the next newsletter or two......

EDIT: didn't realise there was an EGX (?) coming up - if so, I agree that would seem the opportunity to announce a beta date...

i do believe S3 will be delayed - and FD has said S2.1, 2, 3 & 4 were to drop in 2016 so to go to 2017 would be a delay.

I am fine with this, i am sure they want it out there more even than we do..... but i very much doubt it will be that delayed.

The new tax year starts April 6. i would not be surprised to see S3 launch then.

As far as i've understood their financial year begins in june (i have no idea why), and from thir last report looks like they don't plan to cash in s3 before the next one, so it wiil be cashed in at the earliest in june, if not later. There might be preorders/beta before that, i don't know how defered incomes work.
