I've waited a long time for the Oculus. I didn't go down the DK route, instead waiting for the bugs to be ironed out before spending my hard earned cash on the consumer unit. I've followed the Vive/Oculus discussions with interest, and I got a chance to try them both at Lavecon. I've finally settled on the Oculus (although I totally get the benefits of "roomscale", the area I have to play just won't really allow it so I'm basically going to be seated, playing ED), I've got the cash and I'm psyching myself up to walking into John Lewis tomorrow or Thursday and buying one over the counter.
My question is, is there any good reason I've missed that means I should wait. Have there been any announcements or reputable rumours of significant price drops just around the corner? Is there any talk of a CV1.1 (i.e. an updated unit with significant hardware improvements)? I dare say I'll be interested in the Touch when it comes out. Any news on that front that suggests I should hold off?
All thoughts/suggestions welcome.
