Anyway, it tells volumes that always when I see such SC event coming up I do internal bets against what kind of dates will be said for releases and how they will be terribly off in real life.
It might be that CitizenCon will be first when they will nail everything and prove us naysayers wrong. But somehow everything I hear makes me doubt that. During Gamescon it was strongly hinted of 3.0 coming this fall. Very quickly after that CR walked away from both claims it is actual 3.0 demo (it showed scripted sequence of what they would like to be gameplay in Alpha 3.0. This dance has repeated itself too many times.
Anyhow, too much time spent on this thread. Despite everything, I wish SC fans to get game their deserve - not a dreamy hackjob, but actual game, with it's brilliance and flaws.
See you after CitizenCon.

And then it's gonna be canceled, or "already in 2.5"?
Their tricks with release numbers are just mindboggling (what is 2.6? what is 3.0? How they differ? How long 2.6 testing will take on? What are dependencies? Open development my backside). That's why I prefer FD not talking about anything than current release. I thought they rob themselves a bit of hype, but this is much easier to manage expectations.
