The Star Citizen Thread v5

I think a pass is in order if you're risking your own money.

But if you've taken millions from others based on /reckless promises then you'd better bloody deliver in full - you should have figured out it's difficult before you sold it.

(not aimed at you btw Barking_Mad)

I'll give some of it a pass, as backers knew they were ramping up something big after the $20m mark, but CIG should have been scrupulously honest and transparent at that point.

The individuals with the real problems are the ones that keep coming back to this thread to obfuscate and deflect thinking that reality will change despite the overwhelming evidence that SC is in a completely bungled development process and the person steering that clown car has a history of mismanagement, incompetence, and cut down delivery from the over promising of an incredibly overactive imagination that clearly has lost any technical grounding they may once have had.

It's all excuses because SC is a borked up janky mess of a tech demo and can't stand on it's own.

Thats what some people dont understand...its not for the SC community to prove us wrong...its for CR and his Star Citizen game to prove us wrong...and so far he did a poor job at that.

You keep giving personal opinions and trying to pass them as facts. And then you insult the people who don't share your opinion, calling them "individuals with real problems".

That's the exact point "let's build our own engine" should have occurred. Instead, they hammered a square object through a round hole and are surprised there are so many problems plus incredibly difficult to work with. Not to mention the fact that upgrading the engine is going to be so wrought with technical issues it'll take them much longer than other teams using their own engines to implement new technologies.

Are your horse's legs long enough that you cant remember stating that people in this thread who aren't you, had a specific and serious mental illness earlier? Maybe the air is getting thin up there?

I've offered tons of facts, but as always - you just shrug them off. You and Briguy are the ones that came here with the "mental issues" accusations - not me or anyone else.

I can't speak for kickstarter backers - but if they'd been honest about this at any point before I got in there is no way I'd have put anything into this crapfest.

But then if they'd been honest from the start we wouldn't be having this conversation - the funding would have ceased years ago.

I just stated that posting hundreds of times a day during months just to bash someone or something clearly looks like some kind of serious obsession. This is plain logic and i doubt anyone could argue against that. And i already got an advisory from the moderation team for that post, although it wasn't directed towards anyone. Thanks for reminding me what happens when you try to support Star Citizen on this thread.

You can say you support a thing, without broad brushing anyone that doesn't support it as having a serious mental health issue. I support orange marmalade, I don't feel that anyone who prefers damson jam is worthy of derision, they are entitled to like something else... Maybe one day their cook will finish bottling the jam, if they can decide on the size and shape of the jars :)

Ok how would you define a person who dedicates countless hours posting on a forum hundreds of times a day during entire months just to bash and attack a guy who is not even there?
Be serious, what would you think about a person who does that?

By the way, i was not "broad brushing anyone that doesn't share my ideas", you're clearly twisting my words there.

I could by the way tell a lot of people here exactly what you told me. You guys can say you don't support a thing, without broad brushing anyone that supports it as "Shills", "Cultists", "Shtizens" and a various and sometimes very original forms of mocking and insulting.

I would think that person has more time than average to spend on a forum. I would fleetingly hope that them spending that much time on a forum was not having a negative impact on any other part of their life, but I really wouldn't think about it that much. I am hardly a poster child for intelligent decision making: it took me four years to quit playing Forge of Empires! ;)

Indeed it is.

That people have spent tens of thousands of USD on preorders.

I'm cool with the first part. Second part gets kinda weird.

It is indeed a strange thing, Crowdfunding makes things complicated. I personally am "only" in for the tune of around £100 . But I treat that the same as I would if I gambled, or played the stock market. It is money that is lost anything other than that is a bonus.

But I suppose it also helps that I dont have thousands of pounds to spend on a game.
