Multiplayer in Star Citizen is going to be totally awesome, completely stable, and a cut above every other multiplayer game that is out there currently!

.... oh

I love how during the whole 4 hours plus of "gameplay" shown in this video, there is so LITTLE to actually *do* in the current PU. And how little action or excitement there is when the game is meant to be "action based and exciting".

Also liked how they talk about how dog fighting with other players in this game is so bad that it's more "fun" to do Vanduul storm in Arena Commander.

(Added bonus, check out 3 hours 50 minutes into the video.... Glorious 1 fps "action" as this guys' Starfarer explodes and kills him for no apparent reason...)

The only one I can recall is the "Capital Ship" video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VE8B4KptyVI - September 2013

They have streamed internal builds of upcoming releases - Horizons planetary landing and exploring being one I recall, where several devs were mucking about in SRVs.
We've usually had the release in beta within a few weeks of the "reveal" though.

The Capitol ship video, whilst captured from the ED build at the time, was created as a cinematic video for music composers to create their score pitches to. It was released as just that, a cinematic video, scripted specifically for the pacing elements in it, and as something cool to watch. We all of course went wild about it, it being the first glimpse of the ED game development at that point. :)

Yes but the funny thing is, considering how old it is...those capital ships are in the game too xD...unlike a certain other one from a certain other game that was used in their kickstarter video.

There was every intention to show sq42 , the whole of citizencon was based around it. They had a decent looking demo. The problem was the gameplay element, the animations were not working as intended and they had no control over what may or may not happen. The anims are fundamentally screwed at this point and it’s a massive concern.
Last year on the morrow tour they managed to script in the things they needed , a risky strategy as again it didn’t work properly and if the controller had looked in the wrong direction you would have seen a huge crash or at the least a mass of geometry flying into space. They couldn’t get that this time. Hence the delay and the hastily refactored presentation.
SM is not ready, it doesn’t work. Everything about it is broken . There is no miracle patch coming out December with pro gen planets in it.

- Sq42 is all chapters
- You won’t see it until , more likely 2019 as its still in blockout

Not sure what else to say really, everything I have already said has come to pass and you can see with your own eyes what’s now happening . Dev staff crunch for a demo, demo may or may not work. meanwhile the tech guys make more and more progen assets that are then populated with artist made modular environment art.
There is clearly no AI and the tuskan raiders and Dune worm are test elements . The original forest planet they wanted to show didn’t work either.

Lazrin etc. This is not a scam never was but because of project management and scope creep you will not get the game you wanted as in ever. I think your posting on here is great as it prevents it becoming a     posting echo chamber but you are defending the indefensible. People payed thousands of dollars and queued up to watch a power point presentation that didn’t even work properly. Imagine any studio with even a tenth of CIG's budget showing what you saw a citizencon after 4 years. There are certain despicable     izens who I am glad are losing a lot of money as well as being made fools of , BUT there are a lot of decent people who trusted Chris with this. People who may have a hard time of it in real life who were led to believe they could have another life online where all their dreams would come true. Those people I feel sorry for and I hope they at least get justice when this vanishes into the ether at some point next year.

The opportunity has been missed Im afraid. After a long and drunken evening even the kings men are not buying the fact that ‘we killed it’ with the tatouine mission.

Excellent, looks like the "gameplay" video has done its job. Here we can witness the birth of new whales...

https://w3.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/56pni7/star_citizen_sand_worm/

So that's a good lesson for other developers thinking of wasting time on making a game when a demo is all you need for profit!

To be fair, /r/gaming and /r/games has always been SC shills and nothing has been changing in that regard. If you read comments though you see lot of skeptics.

Emmmm....I think AAA publishing is built around exactly this promise already. So it is nothing new under the sun....again :D

True, but at least those publishers are generally not going to ask for pre-order cash until (maybe) a month or so before launch, no?

Didn't the Frank Herbert estate almost sue Lucas for just having a sand planet? That sand worm looks a little close to the mark (the one in the demo, not the fake shop item).

If I would judge by gaming subreddit feedback, you could almost say that demo was done specially to lure new, unexpected players into SC fold. But naah, that would be too...cultish *bumbadish* :D
