Maybe they will have enough money to disappoint us untill end of next year.

You know...its one thing cracking jokes about mishaps ect but i stop laughing when the jokes cracked all those years seem to be more likely what is going on and closer to truth then original expected...

They routinely blow this sort of money making Hollywood films, which are . Have you seen Suicide Squad, I managed to catch a nap in that one, no joke and no-one noticed he he.

So, the backer faithful is starting to show fatigue, as they should. How CIG handles this in the coming weeks will be interesting to see.

Haha, awesome. I wasn't around back then but I guess the clues have always been there.

Thx....Well back then I believe that CR just broke his first few promises and I think that he was "avoiding"to deliver unpolished DFM(AC) to the backers for some time.....anyway back then I was still very optimistic about the game.....even now I still believe that game in some shape&form can exist in the future....certainly not as it was pitched at the KS.....

One can only hope that more intense criticism coming from even more backers will help put a cap on it.

I can bet you that by next week they will all forget about it until next time. I think this Citizencon has had a much bigger and deeper impact in the community than SM being delayed indefinitely.

According to SA/Derek sources situation is dire - SQ42 Ep 1 is broken, they are trying to salvage it, they have actually have ran out of money, and were forced to take 50M loan to keep lights on. Every planned update - 2.6 and 3.0 - is at broken state at this point. They are shifting artist resources to East/Central Europe (yaaay), for decreasing costs, lots of devs are on chopping block.

I never expected to say this - but we will soon witness meltdown of "biggest KS project ever".

Sorry, but I find that hard to believe. Who would lend them 50M? They don't have assets worth that much...

Yeah and pigs are flying as we speak right now.

You don't need just assets to get a loan. They have consistently pulled in over $30 million a year past 4 years. That's only one of the qualifications for it. If they were going to run cash dry they could definitely raise more money via loans, but I very much doubt they are in that position.

Their financials are pretty hard to know, I'm sure they are taking advantage of every possible tax loophole to minimize paying taxes, not to mention write offs, depreciation, etc. Also there are countries, like UK who have special provisions for game studios, its no wonder that studio is right now at 193 people. The only way that we could possible get a glimpse into CIG's financials is through the Foundry 42 studio, because if I remember right, UK companies are required to post their financials? I think Foundry 42 has not done it past two years.

Bar some accountant releasing the financials, which I doubt would every happen, I don't think we are going to know the true financial state of the project, let alone how much anything is costing them as only a few people are privy to that information.

Call me when that is actually implemented in a game and not on rails. CIG dropped the ball big time this year, not only with SM, lack of SQ 42 footage, let alone anything new and concrete being shown gameplay wise. Them saying that SQ 42 is in gray box or higher is pretty disappointing, lets not even talk about their current "road map". With CIG's time, that is another 2 yrs of PU development.
