I understand you, but you can't showcase the gameplay until you got the AI stuff finished. I'm pretty confident there is a bunch of people at CIG working on the AI stuff right now.

You're likely right there. They have the work cut out for them. But man it's time to step up on the basics of the game. I bet people at Citcon would have much rathered they went into some deep dive detail on the basic professions in those PowerPoint slides over looking at planetary tech and the reinvention of discord.

But they were reporting AI progress for years. And in their recent demos all their AI material is shameful, non-existent. So, what exactly made you confident of that?

So where were the gameplay with missions in them? Why weren't they showing them? And no, the single scripted demo mission doesn't count. Again, just another demo.

They hold it because its better to show near of another big sales event. It will be mind-boggling for Hi-Ban and won't count for you (and me). Time will prove you and me right. Hi-Ban will rewrite the past and say that is normal and expected and you should be a fool if you watched the demo and thought that would be released with that fidelity... because alpha... More people will continue to be scammed.

If they do announce a console port, I expect it'll be using an amazing new porting technology called star-port.

At first the fans will cry foul, but Chris will explain how star-porting is different.

Star-porting
will be using some special compiler flags to target a build for a particular platform, cutting out features intended for specific hardware.

This will be a special new feature entirely different to how every other developer has to "dumb down" everything for icky-consoles which are always the very worst hardware on the market (those PCs that have lower specs than an XBox? lalalala can't hear you).

Star-porting will be the first porting technology to not dumb down the original version of the game made for the much better PC.

They'll even be able to make a DS version of Star Citizen - without having to dumb down the original PC version. How? Using star-port and the fans will rejoice as they deploy to various forums to educate us on how this amazing new way of star-porting games works!

...I might have gone a bit too far this time.

They need the AI for 3.0, so it can't be delayed too much. I'm confident that they are working on it because they need that. Same for the networking, they need it for 3.0, so they must be working on that.

I remember how in 2013 CIG bought this awesome AI middleware and SC fans said ED will be left in shame with AI awesomeness, close to SkyNet itself.

Yeah, it did happen.

And ZeeWolf, lots of awesome :D

That would require to have actual gameplay. Which, you know, SC doesn't have yet because reasons.

I'll take a shot at that :)

In the year 2525
If backers are still alive
If underpants can survive
They may find

In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the Idris you bought today

In the year 4545
Ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
Nobody's gonna instance with you

In the year 5555
Your arms are hanging limp at your sides
Your legs got nothing to do
Your potato router has died

In the year 6565
Ain't gonna need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your pilot, pick your gunners too
From the bottom of a leadertable queue, whoa

In the year 7510
If Robert's a-comin' he ought to make it by then
Maybe he'll look around himself and say
Guess it's time for Refactor Time

In the year 8510
Robert's is gonna shake his mighty head then
He'll either say I'm pleased where Star Marine has been
Or tear it down and start again, woah woah

In the year 9595
I'm kinda wondering if this game is gonna be alive
He's taken everything these old backers can give
And he ain't released the Polaris, woah woah
Now it's been 10, 000 years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what he never knew
Now Star Citizen's reign is through
But through eternal night
The twinkling of starlight
So very far away
Development only started yesterday

Someone pls send it over to Major Tom, this needs to happen, +42 commando
