The Scoopable objects make a heck of a noise when you blow them up. To me, each one sounds different, with some weird noise just before the boom...

Which way is north? Any of the ground features aligned with compass points?

updated with north on it.

It's 4 tablets actually. The Map shows the number of each items on the left.

maybe it's a sort of procedure to follow:

bring 'ancient orb' in place to gamma obelisk and activate obelisk and so for any kind of ancient item..

Not seen this mentioned, but I've not got through everything yet. I've noticed that you can shoot away the surrounding pieces from the towers housing the relics and the relics stay pretty solidly in place.

(May have to wait for video to process)

Can't seem to scoop them from the top of the tower and scanning doesn't change but I'm thinking that maybe if all towers are activated and all surrounding pieces are 'removed', something might change.

Here's a question related to the search for alien "forests". Will our scanners detect these potentially non-organic life forms? For example, our sensors can detect water-based and ammonia-based life forms in gas giants, as well as life on ammonia-based worlds and earth-like worlds. So will we have any hints from our sensors on where to look for these forests?

Where do people think a good place to look for these forests will be? Perhaps moons of ammonia worlds and gas giants with ammonia based life? I've search a few landable metal-rich planets in case these forests are some kind of inorganic crystalline life forms, but so far I've found nothing.

Is anyone else looking for these forests? Is this the right thread for such a discussion?

There isn't specific alpha/beta etc. obelisks; they can give different data patterns each time, or sometimes give a mixture; so if anything can be done, it doesn't involve bringing items to specific obelisks. I think. :)

Be careful at the Relic site in Mobius... two commanders killed my ship and a landed Anaconda.
Ship types: Anaconda and Red Clipper.

It baffles me that we find this cool place in game with these mysterious artefacts and the first instinct for some players is just to go there and shoot other players.
Specifically helpless ones that can't fight back.
Not investigate the site for themselves, or anything, no, just kill everyone there.

Archeological research is fine. Grave robbing is not. Sacra Oculus deeply disapproves the removal of caskets or urns. An Edict is in place and independent Commanders have our Blessings to destroy all who pillage the abandoned base. I reiterate, archeological research is fine, grave robbing is not.

It baffles me....

I literally got one-shotted in an exploration Asp this morning while in debug mode getting screenies.

What he didn't realise is that he'd saved me a hike back to the Bubble, because I'd come out to participate in the fly-over search on Thursday and forgotten to pack an SRV. I needed to fly back and get one anyway. Joke's on him!

Please first prove that it is a grave site.

I think they just play the game to kill other players... it wasn't even pvp, it was slaughter... absolutly no risk to them!
I expect that sort of thing in open, but it's just annoying that it took place in Mobius.
