Why did you kill me?

Because there is close to no benefits to doing PvP piracy or bounty hunting either. At least that's the reason as to why I would do it if I we're to go do it. That and people who have this mentality "Try and pirate me and I will log". That guy was in a Cutter btw.

The game is called Elite: Dangerous ;) if there weren't occasional pirates coming after me, I'd want my money back :D

Don't insult the pirates. They have nothing to do with this topic.

If I did go in for that kind of play, I'd at the very least have a macro assigned with the phrase "Muhahahahah!" to fire off. Because I think that would be classy.

For some reason, I always run out of rep to give you. Yes, even that would make it better.

Some people like going for a Fool's Mate, I guess. If you're playing chess against inexperienced players, you can always win, sometimes in quite humiliating ways. They won't learn anything about chess except that it isn't fun, at least against you, you won't learn anything at all, just confirm that you're better than them, but it isn't against the rules.

Most experienced chess players wouldn't do that, of course. The fact that they can see that their opponent is a human being might be relevant in that regard. :)

The only winning move against those that do is not to play against them. Since Elite gives everyone that option, all is well. The game doesn't force anyone to be on the receiving end of the online disinhibition effect.

I was in my little combustible SLF and shot at Dangerous and Elite FDL CMDRs until they ran away. I did this because they had taken the side of the opposition null set in a CZ spawned for a one sided CG, so they were clearly there for the PVP lulz.

There are plenty of other legitimate turf defense reasons to fire at other CMDRs. All it takes is caring about some bigger picture issue like CG success or rewards and a willingness to stand your ground (eg not to flee to Solo for the easy money).

Indeed. I'm all for PvP action when it's for believable in-game reasons, rather than adolescent 'lulz'.

Repped for the pertinent chess analogy.

Do you do vids or stream? I'd love to watch something like that.

There wasn't much to it. Most CMDRs in Open are so terrified of our own shadows that even the gankers will flee if you shoot back with sufficient firepower. The lil' SLFs pack a decent punch with fixed weapons, so I usually just shoot straight at them until they charge frmeshift, and then fire a couple more shots for good measure to send them on their way. They dont even try to dodge. It's kind of silly.

Sometimes I think that if people just stood their ground then there would be no more ganking. Just good old fashioned shootouts. People have a lot more power than they realize.

Depends. I fight back often enough and the fact is when facing an organised, engineered wing, running is the only option, don't care how skilled you are. I'm not complaining about that. It is what it is. Still, I'd love to see some footage of the SLFs in pvp action. I've only used them in pve so far.

Yea, tell that to a guy in an Asp or worse against a fully modified FDL.

You're only speaking from your perspective and not from that of a great deal of other players.

I'll stand my ground if I consider it a legitimate encounter. I.E. we're on opposite sides in a conflict zone or I have a bounty on my head and I'm flying a combat ship. I've been playing since beta and do you know how many times that's happened? Once! One honest to god stand up fight. Which I won. :)

The rest of the time it's been people attacking me for no reason when I'm minding my own business and the only thing those guys are getting from me is the finger as I high wake.

I don't know why are you all "safe nerds" farming credits for? Why do you need credits when you wanna fly safe, with no death you don't need insurance, so when you have all ships what will you do, making photos for wallpaper? Cmon it's just a game, you have choice to fly in 3 instances and you still flying in open and complaining obout being killed. This is stupid, are you all handicapped or what... "Blaze you own trail..." what you don't understand? You wanna be trader, bounty hunter, explorer good be what you like. I am a space criminal I've got bounty on my head and it's my role playing and from this I have fun in this game. Whole player faction is hunting me becouse I'm a renegade and it's ok for me. I don't care about credits or "benefits" like I do in real life, becouse it's G A M E. Why you wanna dictate others how they should play?

Slave trading is not moral too, you have no heart and you have to be some sociopath in real life when you trading people in game... hahahaha!

Ah, see, there's the rub: 'We' don't need 'you' to blaze our own trail. You're right, we have Mobius, FleetComm, Solo, consensual PvP in Arena, the choice to fly in open if we want PvP elsewhere.

You don't.

'You' (assuming you're someone who likes blasting unarmed traders or explorers out of the sky, and if that is what you like, have fun), on the other hand, need 'us'. Without targets, you can't blaze your own trail. The most anti-social in-game (aimed at CMDRs, not players) behavior is, and isn't that funny, the one that needs other people the most.

So, no, I won't ever dictate how you play. I'm telling you that I won't play with you. I can play how I like without you. Can you play how you like without targets?

You need our cooperation to play your own style. Give me a good reason, ask nicely, and I'll play along. Kill on sight and without reason, and I won't. :)

I'm aming all don't care is it player or NPC (I don't cry they're hard like suppose you do) what's your point? I don't said I'm killing traders becouse they're all flying solo... So what's with your pointless complaining again? Space is huge and game have instance problems and you still crying over and over that someone is hunting you? You are just windy.

By the way only social aspect in Elite is this forum...

But see, I'm not complaining, that's my point. I know what might happen if I play in open. I have a choice. People who enjoy PvP in whatever form, however (which is their right) don't. They need targets, so they need people willing to be targets. Killing on sight is a great way to ensure that there won't be any, which is a pity for all the cool role-playing PvP pirates who can acknowledge that every multi-player game is a social experience.

Ok, misunderstanding. I was killed to not once, not twice but without it this game will be so empty and boring... People who wanna fly in open have tools to group in wing with friends that they don't be easy target when trading, so why they don't do this instead of searching guilty? Even NPC's are flying in wing, so if someone wanna acting like a single duck, without even self protection with A shield generator so why should I care about him? No one in real driving solo with expensive cargo and people wanna immersion in Elite so this topic is pointless for me.
Don't be easy target and none will kill you.

Generally when I have been attacked I'm outmatched 1v1, I suspect because I'm using a keyboard and I have a lot of trouble maintaining three axis of movement and my throttle. I have plenty of guns but I just can't position myself as well as they can. I can joust fine but I can only turn-fight predictable NPCs. My reflexes and dexterity are great but I only have 2 hands and could really use a third for my yaw control (q and r for throttle, 7 and 9 on numpad for yaw, pitch and roll with arrow keys). I don't "S", I "Z".
When I get my stick I'll be walking tall.

I suspect a lot of traders do what they do because combat is more difficult with inferior hardware. They'd love to fight once in a while but just can't. It's not always reflexes and coordination.

You need to take a little break from Elite I feel. You are projecting some issues onto some pixels on the screen.

I am quite happy with both the game and my life in general. In fact, I am laughing at you at the moment. Since you cannot win the argument, you attribute to me motives that allow you to dismiss me out of hand.

People like you amuse/amaze/disturb me by turns. You use emotion in place of an actual position, you are incapable of arguing logically, and your routinely adopt fallacies such as the image above to "win".

People who buy an Anaconda after a few days have nothing left to do. So they kill people for no reason.

Two days ago at the ruins a guy in a Cutter destroyed me on sight (AspX). It's the fifth time since I play the game and I'm sick of it. I always played in open, but from now on ill play in solo.

I don't make millions in an hour, I don't play the game that way. In 1.5 years I only have 50M in assets. And when I have to spend 1.5 or more million on rebuy costs because some has a small d**k it's just not fun.
