The alien commodities found on site definitely seems like they have crashed on the planet, with the rubbles around most... maybe they were expelled from their original setup? I have difficulties imagining a context where they were just dropped there from the sky. Maybe the machine exploded/overcharged in the past.
"-78" no, it should be "7-8" or "78".
Only one. If more, then no solutions at all.
And we can not change shape of asteroid belt. We must choose one of 4.

85,930,88 - Closest star I found was WREGOE JK-D D13-5, located at ~75,~925,80
104,1243,107 - Closest star I found was WREGOE GT-G C27-0
Will go check them out today and see if the system map displayed from the nonogram solve matches either.
Why Gateway?
Sol and Achenar are understandable, being the capitol systems of the Federation and Empire respectively. But The closest place to a capitol of the Alliance is Alioth, not Gateway. Gateway is Mahon's 'home system'.
Or is it something else? Was Gateway significant in the First Encounters storylines? (With the caveat that FDEV have already meddled with those storylines).

Yes. I've just joined Mobius because of that. It's a bit sad, but i guess it's to be expected. The "funny" thing is, i didn't do anything special, i just drove in between all of them and they activated.
I downloaded the list of systems from EDSM and searched for all systems ending in a7-8 and a78 ... neither of them revealed anything to match the other portions system name (AO UX).

I would remove "UX" for now and focus on "A78" or "A7-8".
Personally, I'm not a sure that this is a System name. It could just be coincidence that it looks similar to a system name, but it is worth a shot.

If it is a system name, I think the "X" doesn't belong. Maybe it was meant to signify a space? AO-U A78(or A7-8)

I'm also in Mobius. There has to be coordinated effort at the site or we will get nowhere.
Is it possible that these were deciphered before fdev repaired the transmission? I didn't dive into the how-to of nonograms, so i can't say.
