A Guide to Minor Factions and the Background Sim

Regarding "War pending during War"... it didn't work today. So there is two options:

FD fixed one part of it, FD fixed both parts with the latest patch.

What I can confirm however is that Otohime went past Khemaraui despite us ending the Khemaraui war for today in Muthia. So a war did not attempt to pend in war.
Which would mean same state pending is fixed and taken out. The question is, does this extend to War vs Civil War vs Election as well or only for conflicts of the same state?

We have several systems, and have just expanded and the cooldown ended today. One of our other systems went over 75% during the expansion. but now the expansion has ended (and it is still over 75%) it is not even pending expansion? is there a time delay between expansions other than the cooldown?

More news from Colonia. According to the in-game Colonia Factions Status Summary, Colonia Council, which controls a planetary base and has a presence on Jaques, is in this position:

Colonia Council
Current influence: 6%
A Lockdown is expected in the near future.
Expansion is taking place from Gru Hypue KS-T d3-31.
They are expecting an economic downturn.

The implication is that the faction has already expanded into Gru Hypue KS-T d3-31 and is taking another step onward. Yet the system is 7863.71Ly from Colonia, has a population of 0 and has neither government nor economy. The Expansion seems likely to fail.

Interestingly, Jaques, the peripatetic and autonomous robotic owner of the station, is also in Expansion - at 94% this might not be surprising under normal circumstances.

Something tells me the BGS is going to need some more work.

So...

Has anyone encountered massive increases of bounties issued since 2.2. In their systems? Accompanied with plummeting influence levels?

I'll keep an eye out on TR, Bounty and Influence. Had a couple of systems lose influence when I started wars, and were stubben to come back up (given only 10,000s population). I assumed it was war related. Reminds me of 1.3 all over again .. a bit.

OK. Secondary stations/outposts.

If you grind a faction's influence down to lower than 3 and keep it there for the requisite five days, the faction should be forced from a system, yes? Assume a foreign faction.
So, what happens to the stations/outposts the faction holds?

sounds like someone is bountyhunting in system.

criminal record shows all bountie claims that go into a cmdrs left hand panel - whether he gets a bountie on his head, or a bountie claim by shooting a wanted ship.

if a faction retreats, controlling factions takes over all assets.

Now that does sound promising. So the options seem to be to keep your faction low to create Civil War match-ups, OR to grind absurdly high to force retreats.

Now what if it is a native faction. Can they be forced to retreat or surrender their stuff(TM) by a persistent less than 3 influence rating?

native factions can't retreat, so: no.

also, to keep a faction below 2,5% it isn't enough to back 1 faction, you probably will have to back all other factions (for diminuishing returns at high influence level, and lost influence being shared between all factions).

Thanks for the info. :)

Very nice info on the retreat of "foreign" factions and change of assets afterwards :)

it does create a bit of a closed loop though, no new npc factions are created ( outside of dev placed and player factions that are inserted), it doesnt allow for minors to settle new systems ( outside of CG / Dev Placement) theres no fully liviing breathing galaxy

So it seems a while after we set out clocks back one hour, FD followed suit. The tick seems to have wandered one hour back as well. It seems to be happening NOW, 1 hour later.

Has anyone recently seen an Expansion that exceeded 5 Days?

Sitting on one right now (and this time I >did< re-count ;) ) that is running Day 6 of an Expansion.
Begun : 01 Nov (confirmed with local news) and still going after yesterdays delayed tick.

06/11 | HIP 60541 86,4% EXP
05/11 | HIP 60541 87,0% EXP
04/11 | HIP 60541 87,5% EXP
03/11 | HIP 60541 87,1% EXP
02/11 | HIP 60541 85,9% EXP
01/11 | HIP 60541 84,2% EXP

As visible from the Influence Data, we supported the System by various means, overcoming the typical 3%/day loss. We also tossed some Exploration Data at it, as the local news about Expansions specifically mention the benefit of doing so.
I expected the Expansion to take place after yesterday's tick, but to my surprise it didn't.

*scratches head*

PS.
I do have a very few Expansions that ran 6 instead of 5 days, but those were a long time ago (V1.x) and I found no discernable reason or pattern why they lasted that additional Day.
Last Expansion we actively supported concluded in 4 days btw...
