*Mod hat off

The timeline is kinda hilarious though. It gives just about long enough for evocati testing to confirm everything is working and that's it - no time allowance seems to have been made for any serious bugs which just seems mental all considered but I suspect it'll get rolled out whatever as long as it's not wiping people's machines and turning into the devil

Yeah, unusually serious bugs or really sub par quality has never been an obstacle or a key consideration for CIG it seems. Ref the 2.0 release last year and many other examples etc. The Alpha status makes anything go. I suspect their pulse will not falter to press the release button this time around either. Short of a blocker with the actual download servers or other real physical limitation. They know the community has taken really poor quality in the past and can take it now aswell. And CIG needs desperately to release "something" to be able to rationalize the sales.

Props for the demo to CIG. Although I somehow suspect that a cozy LAN arranged session will vastly differ from a real internet / server / client scenario. I also hope backers do not play Titanfall2, CoD:IW or see any of the upcoming vids for ME:A tbh... for their own sake.

I will agree it looks OK, at least they have made sure their demos work (after facepalming Citizencon video). As I am not very interested just in generic FPS, I really need context...as again tech demo this looks fantastic. It's not anywhere near game though.

For positive spin I am bit tired of SC fans waiting for second coming of Christ, so anything substantial that make those guys happy and stop predicting doom of ED is good in my book.

I know it´s "old" news but I didn´t watch this video so maybe some of you guys missed 2 and it was kind of funny when she said that at 0:30 sec....

Now that looked quite a lot better than the stream.

I think the TTK was a bit longer in the stream and all the switching between players made it look a lot more chaotic.

I like that the title freeze frame is showing of that it's an entirely canned and non-contextual animation, what with him resting his hand on thin air and all. [haha]

It was crap.

I don't know what anyone saw in that presentation which led them to believe that this was anything but an attempt at another check mark. As I said in my post-show Discord audio commentary, you can go on Steam right now and find more compelling fps shooters in early access.

Thing is, when you look at the Illfonic builds, and compare to this, it's hard not to see how inferior this looked. Especially with all the "COD killer" bragging that croberts has been doing these past months. In fact, were it not for the map, this looked no different than the pre-existing fps in the PU.

There really wasn't anything there.

It's easy to discount it as pre-Alpha; but considering all the drama (https://www.justagamemode.com) surrounding Star Marine, you would think that at this point they would have a more polished, fully fleshed out and amazing build. They didn't.

The hilarity of it all is that you can go look at videos of the original Crysis right now and see that it looks way better than this utter they trotted out.

What's hilarious to me is that these plebs think they're going to see it released on|before Dec 8th. It was barely playable 4v4 on a g LAN!

Also, quite honestly, who is going to be thrilled about playing this? It's just going to end up like Arena Commander which only a handful of people are playing and in no way connected to the PU at this point.

Well, they have the cover system deactivated, probably many of the possible animations, jumps(for movility) and probably many weapons, shields and other stuff.

I supposed that when it is realease (if it is) it will be in a better state(talking about TTK and strategic viability).

Well still looking just like any generic shooter.....it´s far away from any recent AAA FPShooter.....If that was delivered a year ago, then yeah could be OK and I believe that until now with players suggestions and possible correction we could have a decent shooter and foundation for further game progress......

Yep. As Rolan said above - there are some functions disabled in this build.

I'll reserve my opinion 'till we see how it plays after a couple of months, when CIG says it's just about done.

I wonder if players are still invulnerable during animations? It would be nice to dance through a SM level :D

Oh sure no doubt....I can´t be sure before I tried it personally offcourse but I know I am dealing with CIG and I don´t expect any miracles anymore....with CIG is always 2 little 2 late........

I can't be less interested in Star Marine.

I'm looking at it as something that could have been done AFTER the real game is released, something that would just add an additional experience to it.

But instead, the foundations of house are bad and they're showing off the fancy roof.

That's why, no matter how good their ships, graphics, fidelity, Star Marine, etc. is, they'll never have approval from me, at least until they get the foundations right.

During the stream they killed several times someone doing the "animation" of hacking at the terminals.

Wow..very detail chart....THX...and indeed seems way 2 slow compared to the previous years....we will see...

Uh, have to disagree there... The hourly sheet shows over $1M change in about the last day. Guess the SM showing (and maybe the internal milestone charts) is enough to appease the faithful!
