Here's the rub with this...that only a modern married man would know. Women's shirts button opposite to mens. Maybe the guy is a Tranny in the picture and he's too tight to buy new mens stuff so just wears his women's garb.

Shrug :)

It isn't because a woman's shirt would overlap right over left, and this one does not. It's a men's style shirt, with the button on the left, which is also the side that's on the outside. So the button doesn't actually go through a hole — it can't, because it's on the outside. Instead, it just hangs there. Hence why I'm saying that they probably glued the shirt shut (or used magnets or velcro or whathaveyou). But of course, that just means the buttons serve no purpose to begin with. :D

The only sensible explanation would be that he's wearing the shirt inside-out with the holes facing inwards, and we're seeing the backside of the buttons… But in that case, there are no holes for the top two buttons to go through, so the shirt still doesn't work.

Oh, newtonian!
I remember the first demo of Arena Commander, CR exclaimed "You wanted newtonian, you got it!" - and this was in reference to the awful "de-coupled" mode, where newtonian supposedly means travelling in a straight line while being able to change pitch, roll and yaw, with a bit of strafing.
<snip>

The most awful thing I remember about it was that we couldn't even roll when decoupled in the first iteration.

Just had to steal this from over at SA.

Apparently, in a new bid to deliver unprecedented levels of fidelity, CIG has forgotten how a shirt works…

Buttons sit on the right side, guys, and go through holes on the left. If you glue the shirt closed, you don't really need buttons to begin with. Also, there doesn't seem to be any way to close the jacket up.

I've got a jumper from Next with a bit of T-shirt sewn into the neck, because... fashion? It's a bit baffling to be honest, but I wouldn't be that shocked if they started selling glued-shut shirts with buttons on the outside and non-fastening jackets.

Pah, you kids with your trendy clothes and noisy music. Get the hell off my lawn. *Jabs fork into Sataball*

Was poking fun don't kill it off completely.

Oh. Sorry. :(
Never mind then. And now that you mention it, solving their continued problems with adding a female player model by making space-Clarkson a cross-dresser seems like a very CIG way of doing things…

Either way, I just love how they missed the fundamental function of a button: it has to go through a hole, and the hole:y part kind of has to be on top of the button:y part, not the other way around. I rate the fidelity of this model as ~0.8µC.

I was a teenager writing game reviews when WC / WC 2 came out. I have never, ever thought CR is a programmer or designer. He was an "ideas man" who had the excellent Origin team making excellent games partly nspired by his "vision".

Is he claiming to be some coder guru now? That's pretty funny.

Intergalactic Aerospace Expo, Day Six: Origin
Star Citizen: Galactic Tour Origin Ships

A Word from Origin Jumpworks …
The Intergalactic Aerospace Expo is a celebration of flight, and as much as it is a chance for us at Origin Jumpworks to show off our own ships, getting together with others who love flying as much as we do is equally important. It is that love that’s truly at the heart of everything we do here at Origin. The thrill of an M50 roaring to life as your hand slides the throttle forward. The joy as you watch a new sunrise crest over the horizon for the first time in your 890 Jump. The quickening of your heart as the afterburner kicks on in the 85X. We understand that we’re not just building ships, but that we are crafting experiences.

With our Empire-renowned design team at the helm, their passion for flight translates directly into some of the most elegant and exciting ships available today. We encourage you to come experience our distinct line of vehicles here at the Expo and join us in celebrating.

Where are they now?

The 300i and variants are currently flyable in Star Citizen Alpha 2.5. They will recieve a polish update to bring them to current standards in the future. The M50 is flyable (and raceable) today and the 85X is on track to be included with Star Citizen Alpha 2.6. The 890 JUMP is still in concept and will be built out by the artists and designers at Foundry 42. The team at ORIGIN may have the smallest lineup of the initial set of companies today… but they intend to change that with the launch of a dedicated multicrew ship for 2947.

And BTW $134 million

Wow, that 890 Jump-aconda looks really fresh and innovative. I've never seen a ship that looks remotely like that before!...

I see they still haven't fixed Bob Hoskin's shirt :/

Chris just said an enormous amount of words...

Can someone smarter than me please put them in an order I can understand?

It's one of the alien languages Roberts has invented for this so called "game". Or is it "games" now? Seeing as now it broken up into at least 4 parts I think.
Let me see.....

1. Superman game.
2. Shooty game.
3. Gary Oldman The Movie game.
4. Universe with one planet game.

Is that it?

He was pretending to be one in the beginning, at least during the kickstarter. His more "special" backers/defenders/clowns have claimed CR is one of the best programmers ever.

So while he may not "claim it" - there is video evidence of him pretending to be coding, which is no doubt not his code but he pretends to edit it.

The only thing CR can lay claim to is bad ideas after the first WC... I mean, that movie - wow.

No, you get more for the buck. There are also

5. shooty game on foot (the better crysis)
6. Arena game with spaceships (reincarnation of the simulator in Wing Commander)
7. Steward/ess simulator
8. Pet simulator
9. realtime-3D-interactive gallery of spaceships in a big level (you can even walk around!)
10. farm simulator
11. Tetris 3D (loading/unloading)

Ouch, I remember that. I found it rather comical even back then. Even if he was a hot coder, and 100% up to date with developments (which I don't believe for a second), he should be 100% focused on running the company and focusing on delivery times and the big picture. Any hours he'd spend writing code would be time terribly spent as the big boss of a project of this magnitude.

Cult of personality, smoke and mirrors.
