So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

Tempted to head out there with all of the ancient items, a UA, a UP, sap 8 container, a soontill relic, a number of limpets, emergency shelters, power generators, and a number of other things.

...In my corvette.

I think we should get FDev to create a "I went to the Formidine Rift and all I found was this lousy t-shirt." T-shirt. ;)

Cheers,

Drew.

...but that would mean we found SOMETHING.

I'm now convinced that the answer to the Rift will be carved into the surface of a planet and, borrowing from Douglas Adams, will read "Sorry for the inconvenience." lol

BTW was "CMDR John the baptist" related to this mystery?

I just recently remembered seeing a system that was discovered by him, but that would've been months before I found out about the forum threads RE mysteries and only have the vaguest of ideas where it might be.

An amazing show of solidarity from the exploration community! CoR are overwhelmed by the support that has been shown to help vindicate Salomé and unravel some of the mysteries of the Formidine Rift, Conflux, and Hawking's Gap.

We would like to thank the Formidine Rifters, the Exploration Community, Lone Wolf commanders, and all the factions that rallied to the cause :

LOSP, SMAC, Paladins, Lorens Legion, ALD, Da Vinci Corp, Winged Hussars, Chapterhouse Inquisition, 9th Legion, Aislings Angels and LYR, Exo (X-Box) and TIIQ.
And of course the Brocast (Josh Hawkins, Turjan, and Shabooka) for dedicating a whole show to CoRs cause.
And last, but not least, Michael Brookes :)

All in all over 4,400 Commanders contributed and submitted in excess of 1.3 million scans after Alessia Verdi's call for help.

Salomé is a divisive character, and CoR are seen as a terrorist/cult/dissident faction in some peoples eyes, and this is exactly how great roleplay interaction is played out. The spirit in which this CG against the Federation was conducted has been excellent. Long may that kind of healthy interaction continue.

On behalf of CoR, thank you.

It was an honnor for the LOSP.
We hope it will help to revealing to the public what's behind the arrestation of Cmdr Salomé (for the Rift, it seems we all know now that there is bugs out there ^^).

My idea to look for stars in the skybox that aren't in the Galaxy Map or nav panel is dead in the water it seems. I checked those on my list from Simbad near the Heart Nebula that I couldn't find from the search in the Galaxy Map and looked at what Simbad had to say about them. Some did not have parallax measurements, which means I would not know where to look for them, and almost all were in IC 1805 anyway, where it would be a nightmare to check everything and spot an 'extra' star. Next time I'm out there I might keep my eyes peeled for something odd like this but without a specific target to look for I'll put the idea on the backburner for now.

Noticed something right now. The game crashes every time I try to land on that portion of the planet shown in the screenshot, just like it did when the capital ship was introduced over that barnacle on Merope 5c. There must be something down there that fails to load or causes a problem of some sort. Can anyone on xbox try to see if the problem exists there too?

Hey everyone. Back from almost 2 weeks absence from this thread. Not gonna rush to scream "Told ya" and not gonna go back to the Rift, since Im in the bubble atm. As I said in my last post, I really believe something is down there and has to be found by someone so that this mystery finally progresses to hopefully even more interesting parts:) I just want to point out that we were all up to date at the time specified by Drew's post, so its not our fault that the planet crashed :p (if ofc there is indeed something down there).
Anyway, to anyone combing the planet at the moment I wish you again best of luck and some astonishing results :)

I'm sure I speak for the entire Brocast viewership when I say that I hope we finally get some answers during these troubling times.

The Independent Rift Explorers Alliance is proud to have been leading supporters of the request for exploration data from Mars High Astrocartography.

We thank all other commanders who provided data for their efforts in ensuring that knowledge of the three areas of mystery are shared with humanity as a whole, rather than with a personality cult operating under the control of their murderous leader.

We call upon the true Children of Raxxla to stand firm for their original guiding principles of discovery and investigation 'for the benefit of all Galactic citizens' and ensure that the totality of the data delivered to them is shared publicly - not just those items they feel supports their leader's aims, whatever those may be.

Happy to help CoR. :) Perhaps we'll uncover something else on Distant Stars.

Well it's not entirely true. I did bring back some memories and some amazing pictures. The T-shirt sounds fun though. :)

A few quick questions there was a mention somewhere of a transmission about a misjump where they were transmitting from a moon looking up at the blue planet (the original target)

1. was this related to the rift area
2. ruins area
3. has it been solved?

reason I am asking is I am on a moon looking up at a ELW in the rift sector and wondering if I should continue looking?
