So either 3.0 will come with the PS4 release, i.e. in Q2/17, in this case it will be included in the base PS4 game.
Or it will come much later, because nobody want's a day one expansion.
Or they change the season pass model, maybe go with DLC for each Update?

We have long time speculated that 3.0 will be one huge update, with all planned features in it in one go. People didn't get behind 'season pass' idea, and that means there's very little point for FD to rush out 3.0/3.1/3.2/3.4, just do one, big, delayed expansion.

I agree while it might be more expensive for FD to do this, they will just sell more copies right out the gate. Just leave 3.1/3.2/3.3/3.4 for QoL and substantial minor updates for rolled out gameplay.

But yeah, it is one big speculation. Sounds legit though all things considered.

This confirms that the PS4 version will launch with update 2.3 and 2.4.

Yeah, this confirms 2.3 for q2 2017 (maybe a month before for pc to test it like usual ).
2.4 however will be included, but released later, with season 3 to buy for ps4... That make me think that 2.4/3.0 will come a lot later than june than i initially thought.

Any chance that pilots will be bound purely to account rather then platform + account.
And any chance that pc + consoles will be able to fly together basically elite becoming platform agnostic?

I know quite a few people that would love this, and given that Elite doesn't really give any 'advantage' or disadvantage to console users for using controllers, pc users can use controllers, mouse/keyboard, hotas, whatnot, and sure while it can give differences in Elite it is not as insane as it would be in other games, depending naturally on fp module when it arrives yes...but even so...it would be insanely nice, maybe a new open mode? universe?

So we'd have.
Universe - aka, pc's and platforms together.
Open - platform dependant
private - as now
solo - as now.

YES! I would really, really like cross platform - unfortunately though I don't think it'll ever happen. Can live in hope though.
Good to hear of a PS4 version! Hopefully much more cash for Frontier.

It would also mean less tinkering about, and a substantial update after a long time and in between lot's of polishing existing features.
