Ah seems to be so for the live servers, PTU servers seem to be fine.
*Edit* all good on Live Servers also (just tested) must have been some temporary issues (that reddit post is 2 days old now).

Those eyes [woah]

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Just tried 2.6 on the PTU. Still horribly buggy. :(

I'm tired of doing EVAs from my ship only to have the wonky physics send my craft spinning wildly into the void when I reenter it.

For a game so concerned with immersion, that's quite immersion breaking. And it's been a bug since forever.

wonky physics

I'm sorry Jenner - you just don't understand physics.

Genuine Roberts wrote the code himself. He went to university to study it, and graciously dropped out just in case he effortlessly overshadowed his peers and embarrassed faculty in that they could not comprehend his Vision.

His inability to understand angular momentum is just a cover, after all

Ahh old bugs you saying...they still didn´t fix spawn-floating error of series 300 when you are unable to press F to enter or when you mention immersion breaking if I manage to finally enter in the ship(315P) my "avatar" always doing that through the metal part not the door and that´s been like thais now for more then 2+ years....

Yes, these long standing bugs are very disheartening. I very much want SC to be better than this. :(

We all do, but sadly CIG have surrounded themselves with "yes men" and fans. The criticism got drowned out and the posters attacked for too many years. This is the product of CIG's fans efforts.

Wow, I just watched a few parts of the Christmas Stream, this is fanbase-trolling and satire on a new level. Anyways, this trailer about emergent gameplay may just be the result of trying to suggest some gameplay when all gameplay mechanics are lacking besides walking, flying and shooting. It may be also the attempt to motivate the fans to fantasize about gameplay within the game to compensate for the long-term absence o substance. It reminds me a somehow of these hybrid-videogames in the 70ies and 80ies where you had to listen to a cassette, read a book or using a tv-overlay to make sense of what is happening on screen. So here you get a template of how to rock with your bro-friends by pretending to play a game online. Maybe this will come out as the true innovation of Star Citizen, to bring back the old-school roleplaying culture instead of limiting players abilities by pre-created 'game mechanics'. The inability to deliver what was conceptualized might come out as the true potential of the game.

^^ This.

Pretenders "having fun" in simulacra of a concretized Vision™ fueling fantasizers' dreams.

Some thoughts on Star Marine

So to start it's actually better than I expected, that being said it still needs a fair amount of work.

My top issues are:

Hit registration is bad, like really bad. I've been shot quite a few times and taken no damage. I've also put 10 rounds in a guy's head before he finally goes down and other times 2-4.

Walls don't seem to affect sound so everything sounds like it's happening right on top of you.

Bad hit registration and high health creates a long TTK, combined with the gun having essentially no recoil leads to a lot of spraying full auto. I see no reason to burst, they're either close enough for auto or out in space and require single shot. EDIT: I am against long TTK. From what I understand the actual damage to HP would be an acceptable TTK but with the bad hit registration it makes it waaaay too long.

Massive frame drops every couple of seconds.

Grenades. They throw really screwed up right now, like a half under hand throw. Also, I dislike the screen angle determining over/underhand throwing. That's not in at the moment, but I already know I am not going to like that once it's implemented. Buttons vastly preferred, not screen angle.

I never used the cover mechanics and didn't even bother trying to find them, I just don't think they're worth it and never thought they would be. I don't bother with hand gestures but I did try to help people out in the chat sometimes or give them compliments on clever plays. Unfortunately the chat starts hidden and it's like F11 or whatever to bring it up. It'll definitely need a VoiP moving forward at least in Star Marine. For the PU people can opt to use 3rd party programs or continue to use spectrum. But Star Marine is a random arena game, needs that VoiP.

The game feels much slower than the videos they showed, I am not sure if they slowed it down in patches or not. Right now it's at a speed where I could be happy with it.

My big worry going forward is that the game is so slow I think it will favor camping/defending way too much. Attacking a base/ship is going to be extremely difficult, even with grenades. Without grenades the only viable strategy I can come up with is throwing enough bodies at them to force a reload before going into the room, which given consequences of dying the PU is not an acceptable strategy.

Currently my org and I are signed up for every Star Marine tournament that I've seen. We still plan to compete but the game is not ready for actual competitive gameplay. The hit registration issue alone is a dealbreaker for true competitive play. It's good enough to have some fun stomping the yard, but I'd burst an artery if I took it as a serious competitive game and came up against anyone near my skill level.

Oh and I labeled myself a CSGO player because that's the game I took most seriously. But here's what I've been playing lately to show I've got a good spread of experience in these games:

Titanfall 2
Battlefield 1
H1z1
Rainbow Six Siege
Squad
Insurgency
