No, it's really good flying from your part.
And really good fume usage from Cookie. The fuel level range is quite slim
And I thought my 5.01-5.94 ton was annoying to keep.

I hope I can squeeze in a race tonight. Circumstances are not ideal.

I'm all out rep again, and the Dawn's First Class passanger lounge was removed to reduce weight, or I'd give you some more. :)

I'm actually giving Windows 10's video capture feature a try. Didn't seem to hurt performance, and IMO it's a LOT better than Shadowplay, even the earlier versions I've tried. Wish I'd learned of this before. :rolleyes:

On another front, my last two tries to improve my "Gone" distance have repeatedly been mass locked by heavy Type-9 and Beluga traffic. By the time I get out of mass lock range, I'm already too late to jump. :( On a positive note, there's apparently plenty of room to squeeze an AspX between the edge of the slot and a Type-9, and I can squeeze my Type-7 past a Beluga. I'll take another break, and try again.

I hopped back to alien crash site yesterday as someone was wanting shown around and I've now found myself 3k ly away from race!! :)
Looks like i'm gonna finish dead last with everyone getting last gasp runs in!!

On a brighter note my beermats arrived today :) Thanks Alec!!

Been a great race (if not quite frustrating :)).
Thanks furrycat for organising and congrats to the podium. I wonder if anyone is going to sneak a joker in and shake it up!! :)

I must have been lucky. Never had any problems with Shadowplay. First time i'd ever used it was for this race.

I signed up to ALD last night.

Unfortunately today I decided to swap out a failing disk from my gaming rig without really thinking about how long it would take, it still has 30G left to transfer so my IGT is going to be limited.

But I am sure I can manage a few runs, once I've brought the asp and clipper over... :)

Hopefully this will be fixed by the orbit of the station around the planet, best of luck to CMDR Inga! Seriously, reading the records of her trials and travails is the best part of any Buckyball race she enters. :D I love it.

Also, remember that boosting increases your turn speed (that's what helped me).

I tried many times to get a Conda to jump in time, but it's just such a slow boat it doesn't work, and I can't afford A-rated thrusters for it without selling my cutter. :( So the Sugar Glider comes out again. Hopefully cutting holes in her hull will work to get that max jump distance. :D

@Bruski you need to pledge to a Power that is hostile to Grom. I'm not sure which those are but I suppose the 'hostile' warning on the HUD will tell you if you've chosen one, since that's what needs to be showing on the screenshots/video. Good luck with your racing!

To the Commander of the Clipper just now:

I hope you ejected safely. Unfortunately, the Beluga that took you out also managed to drag ME back in, as I was limping out of the station after a failed boost towards the slot. I managed to get out JUST far enough to trigger the tresspass warnings. :(

Believe it or not, I was shooting for the 37.98 jump myself, which can't be done with a big enough power distributor that allows for boosts. I'm now trying to improve my GONE distance, rather than go for the gold. You'd think that having the system in FRONT would improve my chances, but that magic combination of a good docking pad, excellent mail slot aiming skills, and cooperative traffic remains ellusive.

Oh great. I figure this out AFTER I've pledged to Grom. So he'll now be chasing me for the next 24 hours. >.<

Oh, and I can't pledge to another power. This is what comes of not reading the rules closely enough.

Yes it can be ;) If I couldn't boost, I'd never clear mass-lock in time, I'm only just making it with 2 boosts as it is :eek:

You have to carry JUST enough fuel for that one jump to get the range.

Yes. That pretty much sums up my experiences as well.

Found time for on last attempt. Improved in cannonball, but not enough to claim first place. Failed to jump on time in gone. So I concede defeat. Good luck to the rest of you who are still struggling!

Tried flying for 1.5 hours tonight, and got nothing worth submitting, due to pods of Belugas everywhere, and poor flying on my part. Submitted previous attempt, hopefully it'll be enough to place, will try to get some beauty shots tonight. :D
