Ok, im at the Ruins site now (Original one) and Im listening to the ambient sounds. I can confirm that the creepy bug noises and other obscure noises does not occur in the ruins themselves, only outside them and after 2kms away from the ruins they stop. I have 2 of each item in by inventory. So this might help very slightly in identifying the sounds. I recommend others come listen too and test. Some of the noise sounds like static or even a hint of a voice here and there.
If I had the means I would post audio but I can't right now.

It's interesting but if they seriously stop after just 2 km I am not sure if that would help much. I mean if you are 2km or closer you are basically right at the ruins anyway.

Considering that the srv can detect the relic sites with a distinct sound Why not make a concentrated and directed method instead of going out there and scanning whatever looks fancy?Check how far out you can distinctly make out the ruins on the srv scanner divide up every landable body into zones with that or a bit smaller range, make a spreadsheet of the coordinates. fly to place land, srv, turn around if you get the distinct sound check it out and report the place otherwise go on the next one in a line. since I doubt we got some sort of new scanner to play with and the planets seem to be in the dark and from my experience with the first site they always be dark, at least I never seen the ruins in daylight we need a better than eyeball it aproach for this. in my opinion. Feel free to berate me on the matter if you disagree.

I've seen the ruins by daylight several times. depends on at what time you visit it. So it is possible to find one of the new sites by daylight

I literally just found a crashed probe from 12km up.
hopefully i can find the ruins that easily

Its alliance probe. hmm

I target the moon and then position my ship until the ellipses flatten into a line. Not perfect but close. At some point you'll be too close and the lines disappear but once you hit the planet you'll have coordinates and a heading.

Ah, so you decide on something while still in space, align and then drop to the planet on the same heading. Not sure how accurately I could keep that heading for a complete loop :(

That's true, I didn't make myself clear. These sounds are unique to this site. So I think they play with the idea of the network that has been talked about. When sat on the site, you can here other noise, like machines or movement. But with the items, it seems to have an effect. Maybe, the items, or at least the relics could help in some way? Theory, that's all.

EDIT: Could the noise in this audio be morse code? It sounds like it could.

As the noise starts it sounds like a s piece of heavy metal scraping. I have 2 of each item in by inventory. So this might help very slightly in identifying the sounds. Did you have any of the ancient items in your ships hold?

I've been trying to keep up with all this and here are a few thoughts..

Idea #1 It's interesting that all the systems we were given are in the sky and not occluded from the alpha site (known ruins location). Should we assume then that line of sight is important? If so, in each system, on each planet identified (with orbital/rotational period sync) has someone tried to locate the lat/long which would be on a direct line of sight from the alpha site through the planet surface to the core? I'm just thinking it's another location worth checking before doing a complete sweep/scan of the surface.

Idea #2 Could the number of obelisks be important, if we take the count of obelisks in each grouping, could one represent # of suns, # of planets, # of moons that sort of thing. I suspect the # of obelisks in each group are too many for this to work.

Idea #3 Looking down on the alien ruins when you look at the obelisks you get a strange pattern between them, these might represent something.

Happy hunting commanders!

I normally don't listen to in game music but I'm getting some weird stuff right now... sounds like robot squaking with cicadas or static in the background

So there are 10 obelisks in the top, larger circle in the original ruins, and 6 in the bottom, smaller circle. Could this be interpreted as the 6th moon of the 10th planet? This works in Synuefe XO-P c22-17. The rest of the obelisks could represent coords somehow as well

I have been thinking about this as well and I'm trying to find a logic in the ruins and the placement of the obelisks and even the placements of the orbs, caskets etc. if they have any connection to planets. If we assume that each of the 4 relic towers corresponds to one other ancient side, then we might be able to find out more.
