So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

Finally, I'm L5 with Palin. Going to fit 5A's to my Asp and hopefully get a good L5 roll, then lightweight everything else I can. Hopefully I'll still manage close to 50Ly as a base range.

Anyone know a way to calculate what the smallest Power distributer one can use is, that still allows boost (with an L5 upgrade)?

I'm half tempted to mod my iCourier with max jump range and L5 dirty race engines, but not sure I can deal with the short jump range. I think I'm done with <40LY jump range exploration...

If someone comes up here with a Corvette, I'll LET them kill me.
They deserve it after suffering a 9ly jump range or something stupid.

I feel the same way. It's like a sympathy thing. I'll be back in the same system in 3 hours,, he'll barely have made 1000LY in that time.

Good question, i stored all of my good modules and threw on mostly 3d / 4d everything to my asp for the journey out to the rift. I installed 4d thrusters for the less weight and only upgraded to level 3 clean drives while i come out here. With installing all d rated gear (mostly), my asp is at a total of 56 ly range. Now best engineer upgrade that i recommend before heading out is Engine focused power distributor, just for ultimate boost fun! I have a 3d power distributor on mine. If your going for Level 5 drives with 5a thrusters then you will probably need a 4d power distributor (less weight) with engine focused upgrade

ALRIGHT

So today I've done two darn laps of E2 6 (I'm dubbing it New Hell because reasons), first lap starting and finishing at 0.0000, 0.0000 and another at 0.0000, 6.0000. Nothing to report.

I'm going to bed and I'm gonna do 12.0000 and 18.0000 tomorrow. We WILL find this settlement before the month is out, so help me Frontier! Condemn this New Hell!

... night guys XD

Edit: Mass, that's nothing. I've handled my Conda in a 6G environment. Poorly but done it! XD

This planet is a nightmare to search - plenty of nice graphic "features":p

Yep, followed 10 or so of those until they cleared up. It's a mirage.

Beauty. That's some grand piloting! Sleep safe, CMDR!

I'd rep you for the name, because it's succinct and awesome, but cannot unfortunately. Have some Visine instead.

You get a warning if you try to fit a power distributor too small to allow boost. I'm not 100% sure if it accounts for modded gear though (my docking computer doesn't seem to know about modded thrusters so it tends to do "hard landings"), but you can test it pretty easy.

One other thing to check is that your power distributor has enough juice to service your shield, especially if it's a biweave. If it can't supply enough power your shield capacitor will drain to zero trying to regenerate any damage and then the repair/regen is *really* slow. You can probably figure it out off the numbers, but also worth testing by powering down your shield and seeing what happens when you turn it back on.

Hey all, please feel free to whinge and moan on this thread, and feel free to make your own threads. Seriously, the only way anything will happen is by complaining, and doing it loud. Seems to work for the PvP folk. If you can't beat them, and all that jazz...

yes ! it is wierd. i just landed on Mic Turner Base after month in the rift. and i feel so relieved. and there are not even players here.
but first i got interdicted - is that necessary?

i had found an eartlike planet in PHREA HYPA NT-F D12-3, but thats only ~700 ls from beta settlement and i didn't find anything there. i did not find anything for that matter...
i went as far as EOR AIM NT-Z D13-3 and it is dark out there...

It gets darker. I was out to AICONN and T-something, the stars don't twinkle as much as stare at you there.

Not relevant to anything in particular, but I've been flying 'north' through SPONGAEA sector on the far side of the Rift.
For most of the evening Soul nebula has been dropping in and out of 'existence'.
Now I'm in Hypiae Aescs section and HEART has gone missing, but Soul is still visible.

The Thargoids are trolling me.

This! PvPer's get everything once they moan!

I'm in Hypo AEB going to the end of the galaxy following the REORTE-RIEDQUAT line and going up, for edsm you're on my side, I have a friend up there, already leaving the galaxy and so far nothing much on the way.

Yeah they finally disappeared completely for me.

Well it may not be Galnet but it looks like my news submission got picked up after all. This has been published in Sol, Alioth, Achenar, Prism, HR 6421 and Tionisla:

EDIT: And, I should mention, since the unfortunate demise of CMDR Finn McMillan in at the beta site in EAFOTS, CMDR Robert Faulcon has joined the Rifters and is currently scouting for settlements in the Confliux. o7.

Good job. Getting this published should have one important implication - whoever has been trying to cover this up, if they are still around, is now going to be very, very unhappy. Maybe it will provoke a reaction of some kind.

PS: "Hawking's" :D

PS: "Hawking's" :D

I know :)

But I thought I'd read somewhere that Erimus was planning on retconning the Galactic Mapping Project to read "Hawkins".

Not the first time Frontier changed the spelling on a Galactic Mapping site. "Gagarin Gate" became "Gigarin Gate" when Frontier introduced the station as part of the "Colonia Connection".

Well done, Jaiotu!

If, as per crushdepth's conjecture, this results in a reaction - even better. Although I wouldn't be surprised if such a reaction fell prey to the apparent disconnect in the various FDev departments in charge of lore, CGs and the Formidine Rift storyline..
