So on the bright side, I just realized it was 1:30 AM. MEANS JUPITER IS UP! So I grabbed my telescope and cranked up the magnification.

Saw Jupiter for the first time with my new scope. Saw Jupiter with its lovely dark cloud bands AND the four bigger moons. Europa and Io above, Ganymede tucked along the bottom of Jupiter, and Callisto far below.

Now I am really sad that I cannot hop in a Cobra Mk. III and head out for a closer look. :(

:(

I feel ya.

I can see Sirius from my bedroom window every night at the moment.
So I parked my entire fleet there. Lol

So when I go to bed, I look out of the window, and think "All my ships are parked there". lol

The cluster of new systems is currently setting below the horizon at the known ruins site. Setting positions approximately agree with the relic vs. system overlays previously posted, if the northwestern relic is used as the home point.

If we weren't given the ruins sites, I have no idea how we would have identified this as a significant alignment time. The LMC is current over the eastern pyramid, and it kinda looks like the large circular body. That's about it!

I liked in Your first post, how beautifully this lines correlate with that "little bar" (just like "angle range" indicator) and smaller circle structures.
Newer post picture, from small circle perspective, has nothing like that imo.

I think "divine their precise locations" is a clue from Ram Tah!

I know some commanders have tried dropping the relics in space, and they don't appear to point anywhere in particular, but do they do anything else? *Could they be used as divining rods?* Do they make a different sound when near the original ruin site? Do they emit a narrow band signal (like the UP)? Do they light up or go dark? They stand on end (pointing to the centre of the planet?) when dropped on the surface; could that behaviour help if they'd do the same at the other ruin sites we're searching for?

Evidence/hypothesis/speculation/tin-foil: The relics don't affect the obelisk scans, so what are they for? They raise up on towers for clear communication with other sites? If we'd found a lone relic (before Xdeath had found the first site), we might have experimented with it and used it to find the site/s.

These are things I want to experiment with, but haven't got time today. Thought I'd mention my thoughts just in case they're helpful.

Good luck commanders!

Well its 9am, most of us will be heading off to work and unable to play so lets hang an easy left into "Wild Speculation Street"

:)

I reaaaally hate how the terrain LOD changes. I nearly jumped out of chair cause i thought i found a site. Turned around only to find out it was a result of the ground LOD. It was just an area of hilly terrain

First post on the forum! I've spent the last two months bored out of my mind in deep space, unmotivated to spend the time to get home, but now I've done it and am more into the game than before.

Anyway, I've arrived in IC 2391 Sector ZE-A d101 to check it out. Can I just confirm whether I should be looking at planet C 3 or C 3 A? The last few pages have been a little confusing and I'm having a hard time keeping up with current events in general.

Brilliant!

This is why exploring and canonn / formidine rift should have their own subforum area, not just one stickied thread that no one can follow.

Brilliant!

another brilliant idea would be a ram tah exploration CG, so he can "narrow" down at least one or two of the coordinates or at least to the planet 2 of the ruins are on, this would enable Fdev to slow leak clues if we fall behind their storyline breadcrumbs
