Alien archeology and other mysteries: Thread 9 - The Canonn

I thought (and read) somewhere that the 360 degrees were selected because it is a number divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10. That it was a logical outcome of the easiest number sufficiently high enough to be accurate and fit the equilateral triangle, square, pentagon, hexagon, octagon, etc.

I am torn between the option that it is very illogical for the ruins to point anywhere. We dont build our bases to point towards our other bases. The bases can have DATA that may point somewhere...

And second option that the FD simply put it in the geometry of the base for our sake...

Been scouring the planets for days now... Losing enthusiasm...

360/12=30 days
30 days = 1 lunar month

So, jumping to the hyperdictions topic for a moment, per new Galnet. If Ricardo Bentonio (pictured below) is pretty sure the alien ships are Thargoids ... should we be considering what else they might be?

My baseless pet theory is that we've run into Guardian AI's left over after destroying the Guardians themselves. We'll just have to see how the story progresses.

After reading that the Guardians were into genetic manipulation I'm pretty sure they created the Thargoids that later destroyed them. Maybe we're trying to decode their warning.

I have finished recording the obelisk sounds at obelisk E1 in Solo play for today as well (and I will not be doing this again), this time the clip is 2 hours and 5 minutes long and is nearly a quarter of a gigabyte large, so just a heads up. Link to dropbox, if anyone wishes to work with the data: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5t7eelm66qxdxuc/E1_obelisk_2h5m.flac?dl=0

A lot of strings in that recording, will take me a while to look through it, if I should find anything interesting, I'll post it.

No, they are far outside the site.

This shows the centre of the ruins. From -32/-128 you can't see the site.

Thank you.

I thought (and read) somewhere that the 360 degrees were selected because it is a number divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10.

i was thinking something similar. But since the ruins are off -32/-128 by ~0.9° this seemes too random to me now.

btw has anyone thought about the three pyramids? i can´t remember reading about them in this thread but i could be wrong since it is 1300+ pages now^^

EDIT: sry i just realized there are only two pyramids. but the question remains...
But i can´t believe someone builds pyramids for no particular reason.

Do you know if anyone has tried to analyse the light pulses coming from the ancient artifacts?

Probably has been more research out there, but I was just looking at the relic light pulses last night. Everything I tried looking at seemed pretty well randomly distributed, appears to be just an RNG-controlled flickering. However, I didn't look at any other artifacts.

Details below, for those interested Edit: Now with charts!
I went through about 14 seconds frame-by-frame at 60Hz (before I ran out of notepad for notes), with some video filters on to make changes in brightness easier to distinguish. I used a shorthand notation to manually record the time between peak and min for changes in intensity.

The most notable thing I found was a slight frequency dip in the histogram between short and long ramp durations (time from peak to min intensity or vice versa), but it's not very pronounced. I tried a few ways of trying to get Morse or binary out of this, but as usual, it doesn't really work without separators.

If I look at pulse length instead of ramp duration, which would seem more natural, it just looks normally distributed.

For my observations today the Braintrees are impervious to everything and they have other forms of life living on them which you can shoot and they turn in materials. It seems that they the materials are only those present on the moon. Are they Guardian engineered plant mining machines?

if and it's a big "IF" the barnacles are Thargoids way of extracting materials - to make probes ?, ships ? , thargoids ? - then perhaps the trees are the gaurdians equivalent - while humanity uses mining rigs ?

Interpretations of the Pylon Triangles

I posted this about 12 hours ago but it doesn't appear to have shown up in the thread, so I'll try again. Here is a link to some thoughts I have on using the triangles on the pylon bases as a Rosetta stone to interpret the patterns on the obelisks <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1g541qsGTaq8t8G8bYiwFZK45aA23XEHAB6D7AL0cfVc/edit?usp=sharing. One interpretation of these numbers results in a lat/long of -31.963, 130.201 for the original ruins site. I have done a number of interpretations on that sheet if anyone is interested. Many are tantalizingly close to the actual coordinates.

Little blue POI always mean some interestig? This POI is persisted after restart game. (This is field of Brain Trees from IC 2391 Sector ZE-A d101 C3 A).

Could you provide links to the posts you mention?

In the meantime, would this be helpful?

Those pix are really good, many thanks. Can you confirm they are of the four different relics on the pillars at the site? The glyphs look identical in these whereas I thought I could see differences between them in those pictures of Thatchinho & Megacracker

The longer we go without finding any ruins the more I fear that the brain trees are all we were meant to discover. But that doesn't make sense with all the scans we still need to finish Ram Tah's mission...

Frontier are a bit complacent and cruel what with the bugs and very hard to read clues. But I would put my money on it the ruins are there for us to find if we persevere. :)
