One serious problem I have been having is crashing at the sites, started about 3 days day's ago.
I would have farmed the sites more, but this crashing is painful,
I only crash shortly after i have scanned my 3rd or 4th Obelisk or i have dropped artefacts,
Sometimes i crash 3 times in 5 minutes, only happens at the ruins (in solo).
I did a hard reboot on xbox to clear cache, still happens. restarted the mission about 4 times now, tossed all artefacts got fresh one, still happens.
I get every type of crash.
"failed to connect to adjudicating server'
"failed to connect to servers"
"Experienced an unrecoverable error"
Anyone else getting this ? makes me want to totally abandon the ruins mission, but the farming is to sweet! lol
Many players have the same problems. Some times/instances/modes can be more unstable than others. Like every 10 min unstable. As it is I never expect to have the game not crash once per hour. If I get better than that I am surprised.
Brain tree locations known vs Ancient Site systems.
Some corrolation, but the Braintree's do extend outwards to Wregoe so far explored. Maybe the Ancients do too, or they planeted many or could just be coincidence and no link between ancients and tree's
I'm playing chase the POI, this one is baffling me, it's the same small POI you get for things like the brain trees, I first logged to check it was persistent, and sure enough it was still there, so down I go, straight down that is, no deviation, landed, saw nothing through ship canopy, launched SVR, did a slow 360, nothing but the usual wave signals, got back in ship, straight up to 2.4km, POI still there, I've repeated this 3 times(including login), same result, nothing found.
It's in a crater at SYNUEFE ZL-J D10-119 7E coordinates -30.1254, -160.1563
Another oddity, when I approached this crater, it was very bright and clear inside, when I lowered altitude it suddenly went very dark and misty, I can barely see anything.
Lighting now back to normal after taking a hires photo, POI still persists, but the only thing I'm finding in the area is the remains of a rock I shot out for the mats.
it's a weird one to be sure, keeps coming and going, like it can't make up it's mind whether to be persistent or the usual randomly generated heaping pile of trash.
I think I have worked out why there are differences at the co-ordinates.
When the Guardians originally built their temples, ruins, etc, they were astrologically precise during their golden age. This means all ruins were exact:
30,0000 Latitude, 120,000 Longitude - etc.
However, we're seeing slight or large differences - and this may be because of Star Drift during the passage of time: Link.
For those that don't know about Star Drift, it is where, as the stars are circling through the galaxy, that they also move slightly up and down. For example, every 10,000 or 12,000 thousand years (can't remember the number at the moment), our sun goes above the galactic plane and then down again - this process takes thousands of years (just an example). It is a bit like those horse rides in fun fares you see - they go around and around, but at the same time go up and down.
Perhaps the stars are close to aligning again? Is this why the ruins are waking up? Was the last time the ruins aligned during the time when the Thargoids last showed themselves?
The Guardians had 2 Longitude points in space - Synuefe ZL-J d10-119 and Synuefe XR-H D11-102. These were separated by the greatest distance. Next, they have 3 systems in close proximity - the combined light-year total (which would have possibly been 120 at the time) is divided by 4 (normally, an average is divided by how many numbers you use to find the total, but the Guardians did have very sophisticated language and had 4 digits on their hands - for a total of 8 - so may have worked this out differently to us).
So then, here is now the maths:
Longitude
483.53 light years is the distance between Synuefe ZL-J d10-119 and Synuefe XR-H D11-102. Let's round this off to 484, as the calculation difference is negligible (if you really want to know more numbers, just use 483.53 and do the division).
Latitude is also worked out, but by adding all 3 nearby systems instead, not the 2 furthest away; by how many light years separate them. So, 58.01ly + 20.01ly + 38.05ly = 116.07ly. Now we have this, all we simply do is divide by 4 - because all Latitudes across all ruins are "seemingly" universal.
[edit - earlier I said 16, but it is really 18 - apologies] Therefore, because only up to 18 numbers are used at any one time, these may mean co-ordinates:
Because there are 16 triangles on each side. 18 + 18 = 36 x 3 = 108 total triangles. The triangles may MEAN something, but it all depends whether or not Frontier went to the effort to program the exact co-ordinates into the network, or may have just randomly created each one (basically, they just glow randomly and provide us no benefit) - potentially because no one would know the algorithm any way. If they DID hope we would somehow work it out, I believe the numbers I've shown can now make it possible.
However, I think I've worked it out - and it is quite simple.
I would argue that ODD numbers of triangles that are lit (or not, depends on how many 4's, 8's, or 16's are lit or unlike on each side) are -XX.XXXX - whereby, if it was 7, you would subtract 1 to find the real division number to work out whether it meant 30,000 or negative lat/long -30,000. Whereas an EVEN amount of triangles lit up (or not lit up, depends what matches) will probably mean 30,0000 by 30,0000.
I've been working on this for hours, so I'll work on it more tomorrow. I firmly believe Star Drift may be the "science" reason why all the ruins in various systems are out of sync - and why there "seems" to be no decisive theory as to why one site is -29 by whatever or -31 by whatever.
EDIT: because of an earlier mistake, 16 triangles may mean the division, and 2 may mean -/+ log/lang - if these triangles mean anything at all, of course.
I know my diagram looks very muddled, below - ignore most of the lines making triangles - the most important bits are the numbers you see being divided by 4 etc, in the white boxes and the white text descriptions, though I've basically just described it all any way.

You know what I'm sat on -30.1254, -160.1563 on 7 D and its not the same place..... Hang on DOOOW!!!!! Wronge moon! We where at -29.5831, -125.8597 but was doing the same oddness.
That's a lot of work ! I want to say : "Bravo" !
Sad that only the data from Solo mode are "legit". But anyways, you did the good work and great effort that will be usefull for the community. Frontier did not ...
So I here I am. Log back in. At AB3.
Flying around the surface for 30 min saying to myself. Don't I have anything better to do. I baught a new Python and ripped out to help find the last remaining ruins. But what a mistake. How could I have forgotten how boring this... Time to head home again. Just can't so it. Especially visually on Xbox. On the dark side of a planet. I gotta be 1km up to see .

My rep is mostly for you signature. I'm sorry to say it, but this sounds like biblical numerology. Given enough numbers to choose from, any pattern could be found. Do you have any reason to believe that the Guardians would have cared about a system's coordinates? Or that their cartography system for the galaxy was in any way similar to ours? (I truly did like your thread on Guardian...morphology?)
I remember I had that happen as well, yesterday, I believe and there wa snothing but some meteorites and outcrops... one piece of rock (actually the one closest to the center of the POI) did have some rare element (can't remember which one, sorry), so perhaps it picks those up as well? Though those shouldn't be persistent... hmmh

The system's coordinates probably aren't the same as ours, because Sol is in 0, 0, 0.
But they probably did have a coordinate system, a civilization obsessed with geometric shapes probably has a knack for mathematics as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if the symbols in the ruins ended up being a mathematical function leading to a coordinate of a planet in their plotting system, which might lead to their home planet if we figure out where 0, 0, 0 is much like our system.
3 series of maximum base-18 symbols, could very well be XYZ.
Mathematics is a universal tool, transcends language. The issue is the medium in which it's transferred. We use a base-10 system in hindu-arabic symbols.
That's why we sent our voyager probe out with a bunch of mathematical and scientific definitions. If anyone does find it, they would have the means to decode our system.
If this is right, then somewhere there ought to be a way to decode their mathematical system.
Edit: While in our system Sol is 0, 0, 0, we still use 1ly for each unit. 0, 0, 1 is exactly 1ly. The speed of light is another universal constant so it would probably be the same if there is a mathematics system in play giving coordinates and I'm not just looking into this too much.

I had to bugout, get as close to center as possible before going down, keep ship level, there is rock near where you land, one that gives mats, it's persistent for me even after I'd harvested and logged, it seems to be that, I'm hoping they're not making those things POI's, there's already enough noise with random POI's.
