I would rather be destroyed than give stuff to a Cmdr pirate!

I'm doing the CG at Yum Camcabi (love that name!).

35M rebuy in my awesome Cutter.

I won't give pirates a single tonne of stuff. Ever!

Just saying.

I'm there right now.

just sayin'

Cheers

I used to feel the same, then I discovered there are actual real pirates out there, not just gankers & griefers. Haven't been caught by one yet (since then) but I'm pretty sure they're out there.

You are aware of how programming works? Something triggers something else, but time doesn't stop and other things continue to happen.

But hey, believe what you want.

OP - you know, if you feel like that, then you can play in PG or solo to avoid being pirated, and that way you won't have to face a rebuy.

Unless you can afford a few rebuys.

Having said that, i'm a PvEer through and through, but if you are announcing where you are and what you are carrying, then i have ship with hatch breakers and i've never been adverse to getting easy money..... just sayin' ;)

Did you fall down the stairs and hit your head some time ago?

More or less it is telepresence because we all sitting behind screens lol

That's a function of playing the game from the safety of our chosen location - we only telepresence, in-game, into SLFs (and will do for Multi-Crew too).

And the fairytale with the escape pods is somewhat lacking.......we would seem them ejecting but there is nothing.

If we could see them, people would want to scoop them - and that's (very, very probably) not going to happen - for obvious reasons.

Question to the escape pod users, when my escape pod can travel 65.000 ly across the galaxy within 5 seconds why do we even use ships?

.... because being "dead" is not playing the game.

and it would give players like me an actual reason behind murderfun instead of just for the LOLZ, cant take away peoples reason to call me mentally unstable.

It's not at all surprising that Frontier chose not to reward casual destruction - given DBOBE's early expectation that PvP would be "rare and meaningful" and his recent stream comment (in agreement with a question in the stream chat) that ED is not sold as a PvP game (although one can be destroyed).

So what's really up with thes new-fangled shield-phasing hatch breakers?... During the last few CGs I took part in I was shot at with missil-ey stuff as I was approaching the delivery station mail slot, causing my PD turret to go ape.. and I had that warning of something attaching to my ship.. but when I landed I found all my cargo was still in my hold.. so can a well-placed PD turret shoot the limpet off the hatch after it attaches?.. or is there a limpet-destroying force field in the mail slot that saved my cargo?..
..and if there's limpets that ignore shields, can we have missiles that do that as well? :D

and then they made CQC.....

That's your right, OP.

Just don't cry here when you get blown up.

And for goodness sake, don't combat log.

Waste of time to go after a Cutter unless you have good reason to suspect the pilot is a moron.

Indeed - a pure PvP addition with no consequence for ship destruction (apart from K/D ratio, of course).

I'd trade all of my 4+ QCQ KDR just to get that permit so I never have to touch CQC again...but I've generally given up on getting into matches.

That's murder though (according to the bounty issued).... ;)

Yeah for murder you get what 4k bounty, more like a slight tickle on your belly than a acutel repercussion .

Hats off to the OP tho, but I've always liked rats who POD, if they take the time to RP least I can do is offer up something in return.

They aren't piloted by telepresence - as that would not explain how we arrive at the last dock when our ship is destroyed (i.e. the restart location changes every time we dock).

It's not really "murder" though (although that's what the bounty calls is, of course) as we escape in our pods (according to lore).

Its because the telepresence connection is rejigged to a instantly 3D printed ship at the last known docked location.

If the C&P system was changed to be harsh against murder, would people stop hiding in Solo/PG? I doubt it.
