So, I've been playing CQC for a fair amount of time...I think I could give you some suggestions
1 - Add "Non-ranked mode" and separate it with ranked mode. Also, add bots in the non-ranked mode
Non-ranked mode would be an easy practice for newbies. It can also use bots. Would this split the community? Definitely not. Veterans would still play in ranked modes, and newbies would have the possibility to get used to the game mechanics instead of getting always stomped by the veterans.
We can't use bots in ranked mode because they would affect the scoring. Fine, let's put them in non-ranked mode, then.
2 - Update the pickup system. Semi-randomized pickups
Now each game starts with all the vets running for the WEP powerup. Kinda boring and repetitive. Let's have Semi-Random pickups.
You're last in the leaderboard? you get the WEP or Stealth mode powerup. You're always at the top of the leaderboard because you're a super skilled pro? You get the Speed surge. That's it. But having the same pickup spawning always at the same position each 45 seconds is just bad, especially for the newbies who haven't learned pickup control yet.
3 - Update the Speed Surge powerup
Their mechanics and their placement always the edge of the maps is making them worthless. It should not give you a boost speed of few seconds, it should rather give you a maneuverability boost (rotation speeds, so you would turn faster), and for best results, see point #2.
3 - CQC Chat Lobby
Why is it not working? We should have a very basic form of communication in CQC. A text chat in the lobby and in the game would really help.
4 - CQC Earnings
Probably could use a bit more money...seriously, few K credits for a game? I understand that pub CQC matches should not give you tons of money, but c'mon, even the most basic data transport mission reward you with more money.
6 - Planetary maps
Gravity would definitely be a game changer. Elite already supports that. Let's use this!
5 - Integrate CQC in the main game / CQC Events (community goals)
Having CQC related community goals. Even small ones like
- have X amount of wins / kills by the end of the week - reward: A credits
- have Y amount of wins / kills by the end of the week - reward: B credits
all small things that would really help a lot...
