If I knew nothing about physics and dropped a ball ten times, noting that it fell to the ground, then it would be reasonable to assume that the eleventh time it would also fall to the ground when I released it. Certainly it's not logically provable, but the hypothesis is reasonable.

Given that CIG has reacted the way it has to Frontier in the past, it is also reasonable to suggest that they would react again to this one. Sure, correlation does not imply causation, but it would be a curious thing when one predicts the effect when seeing the cause before the effect happens. Not logically provable, sure, but no one's trying to prove any kind of logic: they're making predictions.

Also, I advise calling your assertion "correlation does not imply causation" because it means essentially the same thing and you don't then also sound insufferable.

That sort of thing depends on the definition of "winning" a race, as well as defining the parameters of the "race" to begin with. SC certainly has things in the PU/PTU that some space games aren't offering...

Including a buggy experience that would make X Rebirth blush!

Seems to have gone under the radar here but new ship interior damage states were added to both the Caterpillar and the Starfarer and the fidelity looks almighty impressive as expected by Chris Roberts visual standards!

Are the "fidelities" those things spraying out of the pipes?

Credit where credit is due... it was quick and painless. I made the point that I subscribed to the project because of the VR hype, which never materialised. They tried to dissuade me, I politely requested a refund again and they gave it.
Hope it works out for them, but I feel like I was more than patient. As I'm concierge, the cash will also come in handy!

I believe gifted items are normally credited back to the original gifter (who CIG paid for it), not the recipient (who paid a 3rd party.) Which makes perfect sense, as CIG cannot be expected to keep track of 3rd party PayPal transactions.

Don't ever buy "second hand" ships, CIG have you completely over a barrel if you do.

Such a player willingly puts themselves over a barrel. Any refund on a grey-market ship is between you, and the player you bought it from. Take it up with the person that sold it to you.

Because you have items that were gifted that have value which you may want to make use of later.

If I buy a number of items from a retailer it's pretty unusual they will force refund everything... because.

Such a player willingly puts themselves over a barrel. Any refund on a grey-market ship is between you, and the player you bought it from. Take it up with the person that sold it to you.

No CIG puts them over a barrel, players do not ask CIG to refund gifted items. The decision to do this is entirely CIG's.

You would not expect a retailer to force refund everything if you'd only asked for a refund on selected items.

So do you actually have any examples about stuff in the PU no other space game offers? You probably forgot to list them when you distracted yourself with Derek.....

Actually it has many things that no other game has. Doors that only work when you look at them, stairs that kill you, walls you can walk through, stretchy limbs to name but a few.

Of course, there is a good reason only sc has these things. I think they call it fidelity.

"//Need a way to insert the player into an anti-mutex volume for SC4.0 release as the microwave keeps sucking all the air out of our player's suit"

SC4.0 ? These are some pretty low-level plans to have for a version of the application supposedly 1.5 years+ away. If I had to guess only from this, they do have a jesus build.

Also what was that about the microwaves? Are they simulating cosmic rays and radiation? Will the mutex make sure you don't get killed from asphyxiation while climbing a ladder? So many questions ...

Why would they close an account because of a refund? What if the refundee wanted to buy back in later? (Like when there's an actual playable product).

Don't need to buy anything to have an account on their forum, yet they take that ability from you when you get a refund. It's them spitting out their dummy. Then you have to make a new account to forum spam with, which add's another +1 to the 'citizen tracker' number and makes them look good since they don't subtract the refunded account from that either.

There's no such thing as anti-mutex, as far as I know, so it's guaranteed it's a joke.

Let's clear something up first... I didn't say "no other space game." My actual statement was, "SC certainly has things in the PU/PTU that some space games aren't offering..."

"Some", not "no other".

But to continue, here are some features present in SC, that are not present in some other space games:

- The ability to walk about your ship
- The ability to walk around a station, or EVA in space
- Multicrew within a ship
- FPS combat
- An in-game market, that allows a player to buy weapons and gear with in-game credits
- An in-game market, that allows a player to customize their armor or other apparel
- Cinematic-style camera controls
- Seamless (ie, no loading screen) transitions between normal space and hyperspace

Certainly, some other games offer features that aren't currently present within SC. But that is the case with whole history of video games... and the entertainment industry as a whole, actually. Just because Hitchcock found success with Psycho doesn't mean that ever movie featuring a crazy killer has been a derivative knock-off, that would never have been made if not for Psycho.

That's the thing, CIG are the only company (or corporate entity) that I know of that will slam the doors shut on a players account for getting a refund. How annoying would ebay be with the same ugly method of 'unhappy customer disposal'

To me it just shows them as incredibly petty, nay childish when it comes to dealing with customers. It's really no wonder to me these days why they had to rely on crowdfunding to get it going.

Chris Roberts hasn't MADE Psycho yet. He's just convinced space sim fans, guys that peaked in the 90s, bloated ocean-based mammals, numerous Germans, and stalky semi-psychos to fund his lifestyle for half a decade while putting out broken tech demos, endless promises, and convention hype.

Let Mr. Mushmouth reach the finish line before declaring victory.

That's the thing, CIG are the only company (or corporate entity) that I know of that will slam the doors shut on a players account for getting a refund.

Oh I can think of one other, uh -- entity... that has that style and loves "disconnecting" former believers that demand refunds or quibble about the founder. A group that has members that become absolutely vicious when former community friends and even family get declared unmutual by the church police.
