Haven't read the whole thread and I'm sure this has been mentioned already, but I personally don't find anything implausible about the ship's computer creating a simulation from sensor data to aid in gunnery control. We already have stuff like this...hell, there are consumer automobiles that have stuff like this to make it easier to reverse and park.
Biggest problems I've seen with multi-crew so far isn't what's included, but what's missing (everything non-combat except mining turrets), and the only included features I take issue with are telepresence in general (which does have a good gameplay reason behind it, and could be balanced by giving it a range limit), supplemental pips (encourages people to multi-box for benefit to a single player), and bounty/bond multiplication (which is completely asinine, as well as easily abused).
It's nothing wrong with the ship's computer creating a simulation from sensor data to aid in gunnery control. My complain was just that it would be good to have a as hologram recognisable graphical representation, rather then the so called "real"-view to add more depth to the game, and for me also more immersion.
I am not alone with that view, besides that's whats being called constructive feedback. It's my opinion, and if you have a different one, then that is OK too.you know what, insisting that everybody do things your way is the child's way of looking at the world so I'll give you that

"you're less mature than me so your argument isn't valid" is super constructive feedback
I'd ask you to source your quotes but I'm not sure you're actually faking
come on.. are you referring to my thread title or something else? That was just to grab the attention. I never said anything like that. Only thing I said is that children are capable of immersing themself fully in some game (playing a princess or knight, or whatever) and some adults have lost that ability, therefore they can't understand why one would bring "immersion" reasons up at a discussion about the features of a computer game.

The ironic thing about this and your previous post about kids playing and imagination and immersion, is YOU are the adult, and us wanting to have fun are the kids in that scenario. We're the ones happily playing with sticks pretending they're guns because we're having fun, you're the one who refuses to play with us until you get a perfect replica toy pistol that is 100% accurate down to the screws, with realistic motion and sounds otherwise you can't be 'immersed'.
I'll say this for the 3rd time, when you, MyHammer, join a friend's ship and sit in one of the copilot seats, you're ALREADY viewing a simulation that looks 100% real. You are not in your friends ship, it is a virtual representation beamed to you, so why should another virtual representation from another angle look noticeably worse?
They made the decision to do it online and this is where that decision has taken them. I still don't accept and neither do I think you have made a case for the turret cam thing being a lead in to the game going third person (that would be a huge fundamental change and I don't think anyone would even want it). I totally understand where you're coming from though and I genuinely hope you stick around and embrace what Frontier are doing. Finally some life going into the game.
Ah, now I get your point. But your ship is "real" and the other ship is "real". So when another cmdr joins my ship I still have the same problem with the outside POV, even if I can't switch roles for now.
You're saying this as a person who is playing the game as it is now. Fast forward to a year from now, when people have been playing the gunnery cam arcade mode for a whole year, and also with the new vanity cam. These people will begin to wonder they can't have combat HUD for the existing vanity cam. Just you wait. It may not even take a year.
Not sure why people can't empathize with future casuals and arcade lovers. They are always pushing to degrade the game further. The more leverage they have, the more they will push and pull to reduce the game to a pile of quivering coin-ops.

You have a problem with what another player will be seeing if they multicrew onto your ship and take control of the gunner position?
No, you interpret something into my words which I did not say. I said, some people like to immerse themselfs fully, like kids use to do, whereas others don't (to that extent -not needing everything to be logical and consistant in the game world). If the rules of the game are that a stick is a gun, and someone points his finger and shoot I will also tell him there is some inconsistancy here. I don't know if that comparison holds up to highest standards, but I think you get my point.![]()
