I have sadly reached the end of the time I can spare for this expedition, so with a sad heart it is time I have to turn my ship around and slowly head back to the bubble.
I have managed to blow up my FDL, then an SRV, and that was closely followed by my second FDL. I gamely returned in 2 hours of frantic jumping for a few more highjinks in a T7, known fondly now as the Tinderbox as it always reaches at least 82 degrees with every jump, (although it has never gotten so hot that it actually takes any damage).
I am going to take a slow trundle back to the bubble, with a lot of scanning on the way, to make up for the losses to data from my first ship accident.
I think I will then head out again in my Python, with a more exploration style set up. I may even come in this vague direction again. It has been an education for me in exploration and what I want from, and can get out of, it.
Now for the gushing praise stuff and other rambling things.
A thank you first to Agony Aunt for organizing this event. I know you have not had the chance to participate as much as you would of wanted so far, so I do hope you get to be especially silly this weekend.
My enjoyment of the last couple of weeks is down to you in the first instance, so a firm gripped handshake from me to you, and a mighty pat on the back, and a rousing cheer.
Something I did get out of this was also the brilliant chance to actually play Elite with some real people, rather than sloping along in solo or group with only my own company. All the people I have met up and talked to have been great, but I have two silly pilots in particular who really made this event shine for me, and I want to thank them for just being who they are. Please accept my thanks Cmdr Ahab (DelayedReality) and Cmdr Kerrija (Kerrija), for allowing me to have some very silly and very fun times in your company. I do hope our paths get to cross again somewhere.
I hope all the silly pilots have a great and silly weekend of events, and manage to not blow up too many more SRV's.
Regards, John
