My view of the photoshoot - certainly a lot of ships missing - no keelbacks at all and only two federals.

Here is my triumphant return in the new T(inderbox)7.

Mine is the boring one with no paint or decals (forgot to add them in my rush to return). the candy red look on the other T7 is very nice. If I like the ship enough I may invest in some of that colour.

I should be online tonight. Will there be another meet up. I was at the coordinates on Saturday, but for some reason couldn't see anyone (I was in the Fleetcon PG).

I've been feeling close to burning out so I've returned to the bubble for a bit. It will give me a chance to pick up a SRV as well before I head back out, as it was a shame to just be able to sit in my DBS and watch on Saturday. Hopefully I'll feel up to rejoining the fun later this week. (Given how many SRVs were being destroyed on Saturday, though, I don't think I'll be the only one wanting to pop back to the bubble... ;) )

It felt a bit like cheating, but been there, done that ;)

Indeed. I am also on my way back with a fresh SRV. And my pilot, that I earlier accidentally forgot to set to active.

I'll be doing a return run too.

The Eagle has made it here, but I now want to get the Adder so i have an SRV. Plus I can then head out into the black when we're finished.

Ummm, yeah, sorry.
I watched Datalink's video last night to see what exactly happened. Didn't realise your SRV had been bouncing on my ship and taking damage quite so excessively.

I've still got to go back again to get another buggy after I trashed mine jumping Solko's ship.
So weird. I can abuse the things terribly when by myself, but sharing an instance with multiple commanders and suddenly the Scarab becomes as fragile as glass.

Yeah noticed that the damage rate when others are there is a little high. That is why I am also back in the bubble buying a new SRV.

I have sadly reached the end of the time I can spare for this expedition, so with a sad heart it is time I have to turn my ship around and slowly head back to the bubble.

I have managed to blow up my FDL, then an SRV, and that was closely followed by my second FDL. I gamely returned in 2 hours of frantic jumping for a few more highjinks in a T7, known fondly now as the Tinderbox as it always reaches at least 82 degrees with every jump, (although it has never gotten so hot that it actually takes any damage).

I am going to take a slow trundle back to the bubble, with a lot of scanning on the way, to make up for the losses to data from my first ship accident.

I think I will then head out again in my Python, with a more exploration style set up. I may even come in this vague direction again. It has been an education for me in exploration and what I want from, and can get out of, it.

Now for the gushing praise stuff and other rambling things.

A thank you first to Agony Aunt for organizing this event. I know you have not had the chance to participate as much as you would of wanted so far, so I do hope you get to be especially silly this weekend.

My enjoyment of the last couple of weeks is down to you in the first instance, so a firm gripped handshake from me to you, and a mighty pat on the back, and a rousing cheer.

Something I did get out of this was also the brilliant chance to actually play Elite with some real people, rather than sloping along in solo or group with only my own company. All the people I have met up and talked to have been great, but I have two silly pilots in particular who really made this event shine for me, and I want to thank them for just being who they are. Please accept my thanks Cmdr Ahab (DelayedReality) and Cmdr Kerrija (Kerrija), for allowing me to have some very silly and very fun times in your company. I do hope our paths get to cross again somewhere.

I hope all the silly pilots have a great and silly weekend of events, and manage to not blow up too many more SRV's.

Regards, John

Not sure who is making the decision but could we pick a system in which we can each scan a body to mark the event? Hopefully, folks like Cmdr John Fry can get in on that before they have to go.

i wanted to wait for the week of free exploration to end, to give anyone the chance to put up another system.

I'll put up the collected systems friday afternoon, we can vote over the weekend, and tag them next week.

I'm positive that JohnF can return to tag a body :)

Having done the trip three times now in a silly ship, I am sure I can make a fourth in something fast if I want to (ie:40+ly jump range). I may still even be in the area in the T7 as game play time is going to be very limited over the next week or so.

I only made three jumps last night, as I am scanning to the max at present. I think I am only about 50ly from Fools Landing. (my name for the rendezvous point)

Vote for the silliest system later today on discord

as polls are disabled on these forums, we are holding our election of THE SILLIEST SYSTEM on discord. @Agony will pin the systems later today in our discord channel, and we will vote via reactions - till sunday, 23:59!

- during the upcoming week we will each tag one body of the elected system pre-assigned .... and later on other explorers can join in.

- if you have no access to our discord channel and can't work out how-to, but signed up for our expedition, please send me a PM with your vote --- and please only do so, if you don't vote on discord....

- i messed up who found which of those amazing systems. please post if you are the one! thanks for sharing!

keep it silly!

All out of rep I'm afraid, TBH I only ever play in PG's myself (Mobius & Fleetcom), but see you out in the black sometime! o7

Haven't had much of a chance to log on lately over the past week due to being run down with the cr*ppy weather up here in the North, hope to get some more time in over the weekend.

Event Dates and Hosts!

Final Week is coming.

I suggest, that we do each event beside SLF race twice, so everybody got a good chance to join.

Orb Football
Wed, 1st of March - 7 PM
Sat, 4th of March - 6 PM

SRV Race
Mon, 27th of February - 7 PM
Sun, 5th of March - 6 PM

SLF Race
Friday, 3rd of March - 6 PM

We need a host for each event - please post if you can make the date and work as a wing anchor to bring all participants into an instance!

Also, we need more suggestions for locations.

As for the SRV-races, we can always use ships to race between.

Thanks JohnF for the kind words, and apologies to everyone for not being around much. Sickness and then RL caught me hard. Today is the first day in over a week i've actually fired up the client to play i think and time is limited.

Maybe, just maybe, the coming week will be better for me.

Thanks very much to goemon and others for picking up the slack in my absence.
