Mass Effect 4

Hilariously bad animations and expressions can be fixed, what cant be fixed is purposely ugly/goofy character design. Why? Could be SJW theory real?
When I play ME game I dont care as much about gameplay/combat as I care about characters. Do you really think Bioware I want to travel with bunch of goofy mannequins that does not fit to the world and cant say their line with out stroke? Andromeda might be fun to mess around in new Mako (that I really like) but as a RPG ME game it failed me big time. Salty... so salty..

This is why I never read fan based reviews. All the games I like sukk and the games I'll never bother installing are the greatest. Life is funny like that.

For everything you will find a pair of people with strong, opposed opinions about it. There are many that like DA:I, and that is ok (and even understandable). I am not sure if there will be many players that feel positively strong about ME:A, though. But that is just by judging from the bad examples i have seen, didn't play the whole game yet (i wait for a sale).

I only trust my own reviews. We are all different and we all have different perceptions, needs and expectations. I have the choice now after work. Do I watch England getting stuffed by Germany or do I play ME:A? Hmmm toughy...

I'm not expecting the world, as long as I am reasonably entertained then thats enough for me. Hence I am not watchin the footie.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
So far I've played ME two nights in a row for about 5 hours straight. For me that's extremely unusual. :) It definitely has me hooked, although I agree with some of the critique of the game. Still, it's fun and engaging, and that's what's important for me.

LOL no I just never hurry thru any game. No walk thru, no hacks, no tips, no trade route planners or crowd sourced maps. I'll get there sooner or later. I never quite understood blowing thru a game as fast as possible, having all the answers given to me by others.

Haha, neither do I. I have around 250 hours in ME3 and that's the one of the trilogy that I've played significantly less than the others.

I wish that I did important things with my life.

:(

Anyway, 11pm unlock tonight for MEA... after I re-download it due to Origin being a .

Everyone I've spoken to on other forums that's played this says that yes there are issues but it really depends on how much you are annoyed by them. Overall people seem to have enjoyed what they played and crucially for any game...they want to play more.

ME:A just dropped in price on Amazon. Not a good sign. "Price dropped 5% (was $59.96 when added to List) " It's now $56.79 on PC. (Amended. Still 59.99 for pure digital download, $56.79 for box. WTH???)

It has a three star average rating as well, with vast majority of reviews being 1 star. 45GB download, no disks in physical box, just a serno.

Truth be told, many of the reviews are from people who regularly trash games and some are not reading the technical specs before buying. Hardly the games fault. I'll bet this is a 4 out of 5 at worse. One guys review is titled, "I never 1 star anything......" and his account history has many 1 stars. 2 star for Witcher 3 on XBox. Ridiculous.

I'll wait to get it, hoping the animations are patched, but I suspect I will like this game.

I'm still on the fence with Mass Effect Andromeda, haven't pre-ordered, many reviews say "But the action is good"
Well that is nice to know, but I didn't play Mass Effect for the action, I played it for the story, people in it, to get sucked into a good story, and to see where it ends, and those elements seem to have suffered?

Will likely wait until its at least a week old or such. Before I reevaluate if buying or not.

Cheaper on amazon.de if you aren't from the uk but buying via amazon.

amazon.co.uk has become more expensive of late, maybe due to brexit?
amazon.de is generally for rest of europe now?

From what I played, its no where near the great Me 1 to 3 characters/story or quests. Its not a bad game but if you expect ME rpg story telling and character interactions - wait for sale. I`m a huge fan of ME, I played each game like 3 times at this point. Andromeda does nothing for me so far, and to be honest I find most character plain boring and ugly to look at.

I will probably give it a spin... when it costs 2$ on some summer sale in a few years.

According to everything I read and seen so far, it lacks everything I expected (and for many many years loved) from a Bioware game. I loved Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect for the amazing storytelling, characters, rich lore and immersion. I don't care about jet packs or biotic powers or shooting some random creatures stuff. But like people already said, there's barely anyone from the original Bioware still there, Bioware is now just a brand from Electronic Arts... One more casualty to EA's studio shredder. 2 of my favorite franchises ruined, Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

Part of me thinks though that we might be looking back at the old mass effect through rose tinted glasses. Was it really "that" good taken as a whole? Maybe my memory is failing me but I can't recall many wow moments in the story aside from a few stand out ones from 1 and 2.

The trilogy had its share of problems, too. :)

It does. For me the characters make me go with it. Star Wars has a hell of a lot more problems but (on the whole) I go with that too.

I really hope that the writing holds up. Seems that the combat is decent by all reports. I also haven't played Horizon Zero Dawn as I don't own a console so... we'll see. HZD had a lot of props and comparisons have been made.

Urgh. 15 mins to go.

Last night / today, I unlocked my first settlement. I find it extremely rewarding, thus far. I decided on a R&D colony versus a military one too. I guess I'm different than most, as I'm enjoying this game tremendously on the hardest setting. If you go normal, it's way to easy, so I upped the IA.

So far, Im torn on many decisions. How do I develop my character? Also, how do I want to colonize? Do I focus on science and trade, or do I get military on the ground to fit?

There are a lot of features in ME:A that I would love to be in ED!!!

Good summary, nothing to add.

Played a couple of hours. It has promise, but yeah, the facial stuff is a bit weird. Movement/combat is nice - I've not played any Frostbite games before but it seems like the engine is a nice one.

But... Just met the first Krogan.

IT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE A KROGAN. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THE VOICE POST-PROD??

Good game designers are rare nowadays, most designers are people who played fast paced games or console type games.

The old school who made games with a good story telling or with a great solid game world are so rare.

The witcher studio are one of the new shining stars and from them I'd buy anything they make.

Big complicated games really need someone who know what they are doing to keep the spirit of the game intact, ME:A lost it from what I understand and ED is slowly slipping down the hill I'm afraid.
